Attention: Winlink-Users with Pactor:
During installation of Pactor in a sailing boat I noticed, that the microphone
input remains active during HF Pactor transmission.
The result is, that the modulation becomes distorted through interference
of microphone voice to pactor modulation.
To prevent this effect, the microphone has to be disconnected from
the transceiver during pactor operation.
This was noted with IC-718 transceiver and original SCS cabling hardware
to pactor controller. (Microphone on front side, pactor input on
rear side of transceiver.)
The same effect was noted earlier with an other transceiver, therefore
the microphone is generally to be disconnected for Pactor use.
