  Part : 5 of 8
  Issue: PACTOR MBO LIST CA/SA
  Date :2010-08-02

  Preface
  -------

* This is the _original_, most complete and regularly updated list of
  Pactor stations worldwide.

* _Your_ info keeps these lists up to date.
  Feel free to report about changes, so we can include them in the lists.
  _Please_ let us know if you think amendments are needed. Thank you.

* There are eight lists available being updated monthly.
  1 MBO LIST EU - List of mailboxes in Europe
  2 MBO LIST AF - List of mailboxes in Africa
  3 MBO LIST AS/OC - List of mailboxes in Asia an Oceania
  4 MBO LIST VA - List of mailboxes in North America
  5 MBO LIST CA/SA - List of mailboxes in Central America and South America
  6 INDIVIDUAL STNS - List of individual manned stations worldwide
  7 GATEWAY LIST WW - List of gateways to AX.25 packet networks worldwide
  8 WL2K LIST WW - List of Winlink 2000 stations

* The stations listed in 1-5,7 and 8 do operate 24 hours a day unless
  indicated otherwise.
  The stations listed in 6 do operate only when the operator is available for
  some hours a day unless indicated otherwise.

* You're invited to send your changes, corrections, additions or comments to:
  DM3TT@DB0LJ.#RPL.DEU.EU   (preferred) or
  ptc-list@gmx.net

* Take also a look at HB9BRJ's ufb MS Excel + Access converted MBO-list;
  mny tnx to Markus for this fine job !

  Frequency Setup
  ---------------

* The indicated frequencies are in kilohertz and MARK notation!
  If you are using AFSK, calculate your dial frequency as follows:

  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
* In USB mode: Dial frequency = Mark freqency - Upper audio tone of modem
* In LSB mode: Dial frequency = Mark freqency + Lower audio tone of modem
  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

  Example:

  Given are
   - mark radio frequency at 14080.0 kHz,
   - Modem audio FSK tone pair at 1400 Hz space and 1600 Hz mark as written in
     modem manual

  Resulting Dial frequency in USB Resulting Dial frequency in LSB
       14080.0 kHz mark RF 14080.0 kHz mark RF
     - 1.6 kHz mark AF + 1.4 kHz space AF
     ---------------------                   ----------------------
       14078.4 kHz USB 14081.4 kHz LSB
       ===============                         ===============

* Centers of Activity

  Recommended Pactor CQ frequencies (in mark)) are:
  1840.0 3585.0 7045.0 10145.0 14080.0 18095.0 21080.0 24925.0 28110.0 kHz

  If you are interested in random keyboard qsos, simply select one
  of the frequencies and watch signals for a while.
  PTC-II users should have set "LISTEN 1" or "LISTEN 5" before.
  You can start a qso by connecting to callsign, who has called cq before.

  If you want to call CQ yourself select mode FEC (UNPROTO) in 100 bauds FSK.
  PTC-II users run the command "U 1" and enter a text.

  Transmit a text as below this and don't forget to mention your callsign:
   CQ CQ CQ PACTOR de <your callsign>
   CQ CQ CQ PACTOR de <your callsign>
   CQ CQ CQ PACTOR de <your callsign> fm <locator>
   Pse connect <your callsign> for qso
   Pse k
  Enter CTRL-D to end transmitting when broadcast has finished.

* We will continue to follow the original and long proven concept of
  MARK frequency, a world standard which is easy to understand and
  uses "even" grid frequencies.

  Explanation of Codes:
  ---------------------

* All listed stations can operate in "ordinary" Pactor level I mode.

* (P2), (P3): These stations do _also_ operate in Pactor level II or III.
  The switching between levels is automatic. Pactor III is only
  supported on channels marked with the hash sign (#).

* Some of the listed systems may also be operating in these modes/protocols
  on HF:
  (AT) = Amtor, see also (SC)
  (CV) = Clover
  (GT) = G-Tor
  (A3) = AX.25 packet 300bd FSK
  (AR) = AX.25 robust packet
  (WM) = Winmor

* Systems using BBS software with true store & forward capability which can
  forward your properly addressed mail to any ham BBS:
  (.haddr) = Hierarchical address aka H-Route
  (DP) = DPBOX BBS
  (FB) = F6FBB BBS
  (JN) = JNOS 2.0 BBS
  (MS) = MSYS BBS
  (WC) = Winlink Classic
  (SF) = Store & Forwarding neighbours on HF bands below 30 MHz

* Other systems
  (AM) = Airmail 2000
  (LR) = LinuxRMS Gateway
  (PG) = Built-in PTC2 Gateway
  (PM) = PSKmail
  (W2) = Winlink 2000

* Features
  (GW) = Real time GateWay Pactor <> AX.25 network open, see also (AN)
  (%)  = Robust connect capability;  all " %STNs " use Profi Firmware
         A "robust connect" is a connect starting in pactor II level.
         *** any normal user needs to update to version 3.1 or better to
         start a robust connect, e.g.  c %ua6adv

* Contact
  (AA) = Sysop's AX.25 packet address
  (AB) = Call sign incl. SSID of next AX.25 network BBS
  (AN) = Call sign incl. SSID of next AX.25 network node
  (HP) = Homepage
  (IA) = Sysop's Internet email address ( (at) for spam protection))
  (SC) = Station's Amtor SelCall

* Frequencies are headed by the type of antenna if known as there are
  (BE) = beam
  (LP) = log periodic
  (DI) = dipole or wire
  (VE) = vertical
  (DF) = autom. direction finding available
  (#) = on frequencies marked thus, Pactor III connects are possible
* Frequencies are trailed by the time in UTC.

* Date of update is indicated by either
  (YY/MM) Year and month. (--/--): none
  or
  (YYYY-MM-DD)
