Has been declared a disaster area this date.
Winter storm has resulted in electrical power and communications failure
throughout the county.
Numerous businesses and residences are suffered structural damage.
Electrical Power has been disrupted thoughout most of the county. Exact
numbers unknown.
Numerous businesses and residences have been damaged.
Large numbers of downed trees have disrupted major transportation routes.
9-1-1 and long distance communications service loss has isolated the
county and the ability for mutual aid. As of Dec 6, 2007 all service has
been restored. County PSAP has lost partial microwave and VHF radio
communications capability with Police, Fire, Medical, and other first
responders. county microwave system is still incapacitated. We are
currently working with ECC, OSP, and others to expedite repairs. These
include one microwave dish and two waveguides that were torn from their
dishes. Equipment is available in Salem and we are working to get
expedited transport. VHF radio has been restored on a limited basis via
back-up radio systems off of the roof of the courthouse. Paging for fire
depts. and ambulance service has been restored on a limited local basis.
The north end of the county continues to be without paging capability for
fire and medical.
