BLACKPOOL (NORBRECK CASTLE) RADIO RALLY 11 APRIL 2010.
For some years Roy G0TAK/2E1RAF (Our QRV Ed) has represented RAFARS at the
Norbreck Rally with great success. In 2010 it has been agreed, with RSARS
local members and confirmed with the organising committee, that the RAFARS
and RSARS stands will be side by side. This is to show our common
interest,
to enable amateurs of both societies to sign in at the same time, and to
ease the manning situation for each stand.
If agreed by the hotel administration, it has been suggested that we
cooperate in putting on a Special Event Station GB2NOR?) in the grounds of
the hotel. Whether this turns out to be a vertical aerial, a 9x9 tent and
a green land rover, or a full Field Day station depends on the number of
members of the societies who agree to turn up on the day. It is proposed
that licensed cadets of the ATC and CCF be encouraged to attend and get in
some serious operating practice.
This will mean that we do need more society members to assist with the
running of the two sites. If any member of RAFARS, RSARS and licensed ATC
CCF Cadets are able to commit at this stage, please get in touch with Roy,
2E1RAF via e-mail to g0tak@kencomp.net as soon as possible so that the
appropriate level of planning can be put in place.
