Columbia
Is partially activating their ECC,(level 2), due to flooding. They have
approximately 100 homes that are impacted.
UPDATE 12-7-07 0840: on 12/6/07 at 1950 p.m. Vernonia Wire System back
down. Had it up for awhile, back down now.
Requested National Guard Water Buffalos which is now handled. Vernonia is
otherwise up and running.
Working on clean up and debris removal.
Still waiting for Medical Strike Team.
Other areas in Columbia County are manageable at this time. Focus of
efforts is on restoring Vernonia.
UPDATE 12-7-07 1220: Flood debris from Vernonia and Columbia County areas
is presently being handled through Waste Management. Progress is good.
Update 12-8-07 1005: EOC scheduled to be open through Sunday.

Priorities are: City of Vernonia cleanup, moving hay in Mist area. Concern
about cold temperatures tonight.
Volunteer lists of supplies and resources was distributed to communities,
indiviuals wishing to donate call 503-397-7255 ext. 2286; request for
assistance line is 503-397-7255 ext. 2287.
Victim assistance center functioning in Vernonia City Hall.
IDA is complete for the county PDA has begun. Private loss in Vernonia is
stimated to be $21M (39.9% of total value); Mist/Birkenfeld/Fishhawk Lake
private loss is estimated at $3.3M. PDA for public assets will begin
Tuesday and Wednesday. Damage to roads is estimated at $500,000.
Mist Fire Department is the emergency coordination point.
County road work to begin on Monday.
100-person inmate work crew moving wet and smoldering hay out of barns in
the Mist area.
Reserevoir sustained minor impact but is operational. Community water
systems are requiring repair and cleaning.
