AX4AK Bruce at Mackay - a good signal on a mode rarely used
AX4FRJG Richard at Cranbrook - coming up on AM for the first time on the new multi-band dipole.

There were a lot of listeners out there too during the afternoon.
The frequency stability of the heritage equipment on net was rock solid and excellent !

Now, hereNow, here is Mike/VK4MIK for his wrap-up on activities with AX4GHL

The Tablelands Radio Group had a terrific day at Rocky Creek Igloo and had quite a
lot of visitors seeing how the station operated plus viewing our military display.
Martin/VK4FMJR came along in his WW2 Jeep with military radios onboard and then
had an interesting display next to us. He had some interesting equipment.
The Vaughn transceiver worked very well with good sig reports received.
The rain etc was the only down side but it certainly did not dampen spirits.
After the event I rang Lionel Veale, ex WW2 coastwatcher, who initially gave me the
idea for the event. He was quite impressed with the event.
Hope to hear such big numbers on next year.
Mike/VK4MIK
for Tableland Radio Group AX4GHL station.

Mike has a few thank-you messages to send out -

I would like to thank all who operated AM and CW today as it was great to hear
the increase in numbers taking part and the vast majority with Q5 sigs.
Thanks to Gavin/AX4ZZ for acting as net contrThanks to Gavin/AX4ZZ for acting as net control as it really did need a good RINGMASTER
and Gavin did a great job in keeping it flowing.
We were greatly assisted by the efforts of Mario/VK4MS and Clyde/VK4FCRH in getting the
Vaughn transceiver back in operation plus Nick/VK4YT for the timely provision of a required valve.
Many members of the Tablelands Radio Group assisted.
In making the antenna launcher - Rock VK4TFT.
Eoin/VK4CCI and Dennis/VK4JDJ for the efforts in designing and constructing a great
resonant dipole for 7.115 Mhz.
Den/VK4JDJ, Wilf/VK4ZNZ and Helen, Pat/VK4MUY, Dave/VK4FUY, Bill/VK4WL for bringing along
gear and erecting a good shelter and assisted in erection and de erection of the shelters.
Without you all this would just not have happened so thank you.
Mike/VK4MIK
for Tablelands Radio Group and station AX4GHL

and finally Mike has this to tell you -

All,
have got our event registered on the WIA events site for next year's Centenary event as 1915 is
when Australia got involved in Europe:
http://www.wia.org.au/newsevents/events/index.php?mo=4&yr=2015
How 's that for forward planning !!
Can you please do an article and a photo of your Anzac Day event as it will stimulate others
to , hopefully, do similar in 2015.
Also sounds like there will be more of the old transceivers on air next year as
Clyde is hoping to find another in Ingham and the chap at Trumby Bay RSL has been
promised an ex army radio by an RSL member.
Thanks
Mike/VK4MIK
