News from Far North Queensland
- Cairns Region VHF Repeater back online
The VK4RCA Cairns 2metre voice repeater has finally planted its feet yet again.
After being retrieved from the Mount Yarrabah site and many months of
refurbishment and reliability testing on the workbench the repeater equipment
has received the tick of approval and has just been installed at the Mount Haren
repeater site, up on the range behind Kuranda.

With only 13 Watts to the antenna and a 6 dB antenna to boot,
the repeater should have good coverage across the Atherton Tableland region
plus good access from Cairns and the Northern Beaches.
Access and reception reports are requested - please send via email to
[qrm] secretary [at] carc [dot] org [dot] au [qrm]
