RAFARS NET 80M AND 40M REMINDER.
Our Primary frequency for the 1100UKL and 1830UKL is 3.710 but, due to
poor conditions on 80m over the past many months, the Secondary frequency
is 7.055. So if nothing heard on primary for the first 5 mins then QSY/QAP
on the Secondary frequency. Your controllers are G2AFV, G3HWQ, G4PFR,
GI4SAM, M0RGI and G3XVN.
RAFARS AGM AND DINNER SATURDAY 27 OCT 2012.
RAFARS AGM and Dinner will be held at DCA Cosford WV7 3EX Junction M54 J3
on Saturday 27 Oct at 1330hrs in the Flowerdown Building.
The AGM Dinner will be held on the Saturday Evening 1930hrs at the
Greys Hotel, Forge Gate, Telford TF3 4NA, M54 J5. Cost of Dinner #25.00.
If you wish to have BandB at the hotel, phone bookings 01952-425000
or book in on-line. A double room is #57.
Some members will also be having dinner and a chat on The Friday Evening.
As before Terry G4PSH will be on 144.725 FM Fri/Sat/Sun when available.
Full details will appear in the next QRV Journal, would Members who are
unable to attend the AGM also fill in the return form.
RNARS COVENTRY SOCIAL EVENT SEPTEMBER 2012.
Friday to Sun 14-16 Sept 2012 RNARS are holding a Social Event
in Coventry open to all, which consist of a Gala Dinner on the Sat evening
and in the afternoon a visit to the National Memorial Arboretum. For full

GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD RAFARS PERMANENT S.E.S.
GB2RAF will not be operational 11 Aug 2012 due to G4PSH XYL Birthday
unless we get a RAFARS Member Full Licence to put GB2RAF on the air.
De-brief for Sat 14 July GB2RAF Conditions Fair with QSB. RAFARS Members
on 7.054 1100 Net G2AFV G3AZW. IARU HQ Contest on at 1100Z all bands,
and I worked ten Stations plus GO2HQ but one good contact was GB3RS RSGB
from Bletchley Park first time on the air. These days I find that there is
a lot of activity on 40m between 7.100 to 7.200 and I have had my TS570
Wide Band Modified so I can now work those frequencies.
CQ CW DX 14.055 at 1200-1205 No reply.
CQ CW on 3.567 at 1300-1305 No RAFARS on Freq
GB2RAF will be operational normally every 2nd Sat of the month. Primary
frequency is 3.710Mhz but if 80m is down we can be found on 7.055Mhz plus.
Any RAFARS Member can operate the station but contact Terry G4PSH first
to clear it with RAFARS Membership and the Museum Manager.
GB2RAF is for RAFARS Members to operate when ever you wish on Tues,
Thur or the 2nd Sat of every month 1000-1600hrs.

The Muckleburgh Military Collection at Weyborne Norfolk NR25 7EG will
be holding a Car Boot sale on Sat 9 Sept 2012 1000-1600hrs
We have our radio museum housed in a hut on the site and is well worth

MORSE MESSAGES IN THE SKY
The robotic Japanese cargo vessel now en route to the International Space
Station is loaded with equipment that includes and a set of tiny amateur
radio satellites known as cubesats.
One of the cubesats, FITSAT-1, will write messages in the night sky with
