Good morning from Jim, just South of Boston MA. I have been using Ubuntu
for a while now and although it seems OK, I am not totally happy with it.
When I first got it, it seemed streamlined and fast. However as "updates"
came along it seemed to me to slow down until recently when it is now
going much slower. At first I thought it was all in my head so I
reinstalled Ubuntu from my original install disk. Wow, much
faster.....then the updates started coming and things started slowing down
a again.

Today as I type this on packet, I am downloading Slackware, Debian and
Fedora 9.0. I think I'm going to try them all to see which one I like
best.

I would definitely appreciate any thoughts from you folks.

Thanks!
