OK off into the world of Linux without a clue as to what I am doing. This
should prove interesting??
Having run Windoz from Micro$oft for many years I am looking to the future
with my computers. I some six years ago bought a laptop pre-installed with
WIN-XP-Home. I also have two computers running WIN-XP-PRO and if the darn
thing works (hardware troubles, soldering iron out soon) yet another.
Micro$oft are telling me I have only a couple of years left in the
operating system, so now what?
I have a 600 to 800 P3 going spare so I thought I'd heared about Linux.
Why not put both feet together in one's mouth up to the neck and jump in?
The PC works so it should I hope run Linux.
I took a look on the web and found a download site for Linux Mint Katya.
Then I found a couple of bit torrent sites one for 32 bit and one for 64
bit. Both are rattling in at the moment on the Netgear ReadyNAS Duo. Ah 32
bit has completed and is now seeding. These are ISO files and the DVD
burner can unpack 'em and rack 'em up to form an install disk.
Now the questions:-)>
As I have (or will have 32 bit and a 64 bit) both bit versions what is
best to run on a Intel Desktop Board D815EEA ?
I note I can download Mozzila Firefox for Linux, I do use the Windoz
version for some years. Are there any problems to be awear off?
I heard of WINNE to run Winpack in so you know, erm.... any problems I
should be awear of?
As Laural and Hardy used to say in the black and white movie, "Hear's
