Recent kernel distros have Unix98 standard pseudo tty.
Some accept boot parameter via grub validate old style pty/tty created.
In that case, Grub menu.lst file mus include pty.legacy_count=nn on
the line before initrd (hd0,4)....
nn can be any number lower than 256. I use 10.
However, if you compile your custom kernel, you may validate old style
pty via make menuconfig command.
