LINUX flavour KUBUNTU is without doubt the Hams tool for working almost
everywhere on BBS and on UIV32. There seems to be a glich in GBR at the mo
but with a little effort we will over come this. I run Xastir 1.9 and it
is indeed a very good tool for tracking BUT the maps are absolute rubbish
and are not up to the standards of the late G4IDE(SK) RIP Roger.
Can anyone advise the best way of running a Byonics GPS2 with the laptop
running Xastir 1.9? GPS2 is exceptional value as you are able to capture
about 25 GPS and so always be *Informed*.
To download Xastir 1.9 go into terminal and type:sudo apt-get -y install
xastir* and within a few minutes it will all be set up for you. W INE is
not required.
Any help, please send me a Pmail.
Best wishes,
Rodge.
