SKCC Sprint - CW
Sprint Rules

 

1. Summary:

Call CQ SKS. Work stations once per band using a key which meets the requirements for SKCC membership. Exchange NAME, S/P/C (state, province or non-US-or-Canada-country) and SKCC# (or power for non-members). The final score is (Total QSOs * S/P/C multiplier) + Centurion bonus + Tribune bonus + Club bonus. The use of spotting networks (e.g., the SKCC sked page) is not permitted. Asking for a QSY to another band after a valid contact is permitted.

2. Eligibility:

All CW operators using manual keys meeting the requirements for SKCC membership may participate in the monthly Straight Key Sprint. See the SKCC home page for membership details. You do not need to be an SKCC Member to participate.

3. Date and Time:

The monthly Straight Key Sprint will be held on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 0000Z to 0200Z during Daylight Saving Time (summer schedule) and from 0100-0300 during Standard Time (winter schedule). Schedule changes, if required, will be posted to the SKCC mailing list and forum. (NOTE: Remember, in the Americas, the Sprint actually takes place Tuesday evening from 8 PM - 10 PM EASTERN, 7 PM - 9 PM CENTRAL, 6 PM - 8 PM MOUNTAIN, 5 PM -7 PM PACIFIC. Also note that the fourth Wednesday does not always follow the fourth Tuesday.)

4. Frequencies (+/- 10 kHz):

    160 meters 1820 KHz
    80 meters 3550 kHz,
    40 meters 7055 kHz,
    20 meters 14050 kHz,
    15 meters 21050 kHz,
    10 meters 28050 kHz.

The use of spotting networks (including sked pages) is not permitted. Other bands are not used.

5. Categories:

Members (must have SKCC# prior to the start of the contest). Non-members (must use eligible manual keys, see the SKCC home page for requirements).

6. Call & Exchange:

Call "CQ SKS". Members exchange NAME, SKCC# and S/P/C. Centurion members follow SKCC# with "C," and Tribune members follow SKCC# with "T." Non-members exchange NAME, S/P/C and POWER followed by "W."

7. Points, Multipliers and Bonus:

One QSO point for each station worked per band.
One multiplier for each S/P/C worked per Sprint.
Five bonus points are awarded for each Centurion worked per band.
Ten bonus points are awarded for each Tribune worked per band.
25 bonus points are awarded for working the SKCC club call (K9SKC) per band.

8. Scoring:

(QSO points * S/P/C multiplier) + Centurion bonus + Tribune bonus + Club bonus

9. Submissions:

Logs are not required unless requested by the contest manager. Submit scores via the web submission page. Scores must be submitted no later than the Friday following the event. The following information is required for each submission:

    * Name
    * Call
    * SKCC number (if applicable)
    * QSO points
    * S/P/C Multipliers
    * Centurion Bonus
    * Tribune Bonus
    * Club Call Bonus
    * Power used (for statistics only)
    * Your S/P/C (for statistics only)
    * Soapbox comments (optional but desired) 

Definitions:

S/P/C - State/Province/Country
    Multiplier points are awarded for each unique State, Province or Country worked per sprint.
