Hello "HF"ers ...and especially the Contesters.
This little chuckle started during the recent trip up north
here and running HF portable, I was fortunate enough to connect
with a Station near Washington DC, in some Wildlife Palce running
a Special Event station, describing all in the Park there
and things were going GREAAT until, at some magice hour the
whole 40 meter band erupted with the Contesters.
These "PESTS" drowned out anyone trying to run a special
event station to just talking to another ham. I thought I
was the only one with evil thoughts, until I heard a
gentleman somewhere on the East Coast really lay into them
and I really give him credit for giving me the morning
laughs at how he really chewed them out.
Good to see, there are others, who are not contesting freaks
still out there wanting conversation, and DO NOT want these
characters bugging them ...also not afraid to lay it on the
line with them ... Way to go!
Turned off the Super CB and enjoyed the rest of the outting
up north. Contesters beware... a lot of folks have had enough.
