Hi Eldred and all,

I know a guy with a great amp and speakers but he plays gis Gibson short
neck like that drunken classical guitarist you mentioned, YUK! There's
nothing like that deep resonance and if the attack doesn't feel like a
punch in the stomach is's not bass. Loud doesn't mean a thing, it can't
over power the other instruments but it's got to get you "right there" to
make the band.

Speaking of which, once upon a time The Four Seasons changed the bass amp
and speakers, coupled with a better record company the whole sound of the
music improved to the point where the only thing that identified them was
Frankie's unique voice. Later Genesis was identified by the Taurus bass
pedals, AWESOME! Naturally the American record lablel messed it all up,
British vinyl was GOOD vinyl and still the glass triode is the leader of
the pack.
