Hi Bob and all,
I've heard of it but never had a peek, that's one heck of a gash! You
might want a look at the iron mine in Hibbing MN if you want to know why
Robert Zimmerman AKA Bob Dylan left town. Once they're done with it
they'll do what they do with any other open pit mine, fill it in with the
tailings mounded all around it and plant it over with native trees and
foliage and in a few years you'd never know it was there.
There used to be safety issues with abandoned pits filled with the
clearest crystal blue water you've ever seen so you can thank the
greenies for one thing at least, saving lives.
