Adjacent picture tiles are not necessarily from the same satellite pass, or
even from the same source. You could easily have one "up-to-date" tile with
good resolution adjacent to a four year old tile with lower resolution.
I have no idea of the priority order when it comes to updating images. My
immediate area has ben updated this year but a friends place 8km away
hasn't yet.
