Today I went to the Central Coast Amateur Radio Club field day. the biggest
amateur gathering in Australia.

There I was told that Motorola had taken over Yaesu some time ago.

However the point of this bulletin was that I was told this RUMOUR.

That Yaesu will not be bringing out D-Star but the commercial system that
performs similar functions called APTCO. (I think that is the initials)
It is not a Motorola system but an industry system.

Now this will put the cat amoung the pigeons to say the least, especially if
Kenwood does the same.
It would mean if this RUMOUR is correct we will have the situation where we
need one brqand of radio for one repeater and different one for another
repeater.

I think we need a clarification on this fairly quickly.
Can anyone throw light on this ?
