Hi Neil and all,

Close, but no cigar. There was no appreciable hum in the audio output 
unless there was a bad electrolytic as in any LV power supply. You forgot 
the hum bucking coil connected to the heater string that phase cancelled 
the ripple current in the speaker magnetizing/choke winding. If a 
serviceman connected either backward they would sum rather than cancell.

One more thing on those P-P 6V6s I mentioned earlier, how about the 
National Radio NC-183D that had two RF amps and P-P output?
