Hello Ian, and also others that might be reading along, and noticed
the thread change from HAGGIS @WW to ITEMS @WW to reflect the
various topics...of course of mutual interest.

A "1 lb'er" ...and all on your own. That must make a lot of left
-overs for "Chef Mike" to prepare for you. Like turkey turkey
turkey after Christmas and New Years...ugh.

I got enough for "1" people. Now I have more coming over for a
nibble on what they thought I was going to be celebrating on the
weekend...but then that's not the date. I told them we could
celebrate a "Post Burns Dinner" on the first weekend in February
as well "Groundhog Day" ...when Jackson's Point JACK...our celebrated
Groundhog here at the POINT will make or perhaps not his appearance.
He has been pretty good at predicting either the extra weeks of
winter or not...so we look after JACK.

Say it aint so Ian ...Of course you remembered. I guess it goes
with the main item of interest we might get into.

Before Ireland, and there was just the mainland of England and all the
areas ruled by this and that KIng < for want of a better description>
that that union represents the United Kingdom, and well Northern Ireland
was an addon like all the rest? I was wondering, when the term
"United Kingdom" was coined? During Alfred's time? Hmmm....

I guess , it is just who you ask and where. Useless surveys,
as the one on the news here, had 30% of those Scots polled...as
wanting the separation.

I agree with you on the dislike from battles too long ago and really
not earth shattering today. In fact the last big one was over the
Stone of Scone, and now they have a rumour going, that the one
brought back to Scotland is a "fake" ..hahahahaha...gotta love it
all.

I think things between the English and Scotts really changed, during
the war. My mother remembers when the first Military conveys
started coming thru the town, all the townsfolk were out to offer
tea and food to the English troops on the trucks, and as far as I
am concerned, all the hate of the past was gone.

> BTW My calender says Robert Burns night, Holiday in Scotland.

Yes ... I saw that in a British Import store. Used to be here too
but not anymore. I am surprised by what these cannuckains do list.

Well ... I know it is St. George Day ... but if asked for a date...
well I am lucky I am not on the spot on one of these TV shows.

Hey ... did you say St. David's flag was white on blue? Isn't
that St. Andrew? Maybe the red diagonal striped cross... hmm.

The present flag of Cannuckia came out ..mmm ...1965 or somewhere
there.

Well Ian..it is a Union flag...and if no union ..then blank.

Yep. I see a lot of Scott-Cannuckians here with the Scott's Standard
and the flag of St Andrew <Blue looks like south seas blue> so I guess
they are making a statement ..perhaps.

After seeing the news item and all...I thought...well here we go again
and then to what end, and what might the future hold? I sort of
laughed it off...and stuck with the sabre rattling, and lets have
a re-match of some of those battles again.

It took my mother, a Scott...very long years to figure out, the
big deal between two football teams in Scotland... Glasgow "Rangers"
and "Celtic" ... today still a great rivalry.

Yesterday. I had a call from a lady's those company distributes
Haggis, and she was so helpful in trying yesterday to help me
thinking I was going to celebrate on the weekend, like is custom
in the North American culture. Naah Naah... not me... and now
I have thanks to her efforts some places to check when out and about.

I think..Maria likes Tripe. I will have to ask her how she likes it.

OK ... I am done... 73 Pete VE3WBZ
