Season's Greeting to all!
I have been chasing a problem with the INF.SYS file being contaminated.
Accessing the inf.sys file from a terminal showed no hint of a problem.
However, using the FBBW client showed that
entries for several BBSes were duplicated. They would show up as entries
in upper and lower case. Running Maintinf
would show that there were duplicates and repair the damage.

My temp fix was to daily run Maintinf at Housekeeping time. At first I
thought it was related to the version of the BBS at the other end.
It turns out to be a fwd file error. The C line for this BBS was C C
k4xyz 3100999999. When I changed it to C C K4XYZ 3100999999 -
the duplicate entries for this BBS went away.

Now... if I can figure out why the FbbW client shows odd filenames and
refuses to let me edit them from the client I will be a Happy Camper.

Hi,

I cannot find a "source.list" site to acquire the F6fbb software within
ubuntu "gutzy".

What is going on?

I think it was when Jerry KD4YAL was setting up he had a forwarding
issue that was related to lower case entries in bbs.sys (I think - long
time ago). I use uppercase in the fbb config files as a precaution.

When you say odd filenames in the Winfbb client, do you mean that the
files are listed complete with the directory structure, and you can't
open them?

I very occasionally see this, and an Italian station also reported the
"problem" on the xfbb list a couple (few) years ago. If that's what you
see it appears to be a Linux problem, and rebooting makes it go away,
sometimes for lengthy periods and sometimes not so lengthy. Killing and
restarting xfbb has no effect but rebooting Linux does. It's remains one
of life's little Linux mysteries.

Don't know about Ubuntu but with my Debian and Kubuntu installations
it's in the Amateur Radio section in Synaptic and is available from the
standard repositories that install with a clean installation.

Try apt-get install fbb

It will also want to install libax25
