3D2_r  - Eddie, VK4AN   (3D2A)   says  that   a  team   of  Pacific    DXers
         (http://pacific-dxers.com) "have all  permits  in  place"  and  are
         planning operate from Rotuma for three weeks in June. The  callsign
         has not been assigned yet,  but  they  expect  to  be  issued  with
         either 3D2P or  3D20R,  with  3D2A/R  as  an  alternative.  Current
         operators  include  VK4AN,  3D2DD  and  VK4FW;  they  are   seeking
         expressions of interest from experienced CW, SSB and  digital  mode
         operators and possibly a 6m enthusiast. [TNX DX World]
5W     - An advance party of three T31A team members is currently  in  Apia,
         Samoa to  inspect  the  equipment  shipped  from  California.  They
         operate as 5W0JK (QSK via W2IJ), 5W0QQ (QSL  via  N7CQQ)  and  5W0X
         (QSL via W9IXX) as time allows. The entire team will leave Apia  on
         13 April; the voyage to Kanton (T31) will take about four days.
9A     - Look for 9A/HA5AUC, 9A/HA5BWW and 9A/HA7PC to be  active  from  Rab
         Island (EU-136) on 11-18 April. They will operate  mainly  CW  with
         some SSB on 80-6 metres. QSL  via  home  calls,  bureau  preferred.

9N     - Dov, 4Z4DX (9N7DX) and his wife Anat (9N7YL) will  be  active  from
         Nepal on 13-30 April. Dov plans to operate mainly on  20,  12,  15,
         10 and 6 metres CW, RTTY and PSK31, with some SSB. QSL  via  4Z4DX.

A2     - Filip, ON4AEO and other seven  operators  from  Belgium  and  South
         Africa will be active as A25FC from Botswana on 14-18  April.  They
         plan to operate SSB, CW, RTTY and PSK  on  80-10  metres.  QSL  via

DL     - DJ9MD, DK8MIL, DK7JAN and DK9BTX will be active as DF0TM from  Sylt
         Island (EU-042) on 15-18 April. QSL via bureau. [TNX rsgbiota.org]
F      - Special event call TM26UFT will in use on 10-24 April for the  26th
         annual general meeting of the Union Francaise  des  Telegraphistes,
         the French CW Society  (www.uft.net).  All  of  the  QSOs  will  be
         confirmed by the bureau and LoTW. Direct cards should  be  sent  to

FJ     - Anne, OH2YL will  be  active  as  FJ/OH2YL  from  Saint  Barthelemy
         (NA-146) on 15-27  April.  She  will  operate  CW  only  on  160-10
         metres. QSL via home call, bureau  or  direct,  and  LoTW.  Further

G      - Celebrating 45 years of the Havering & District  ARC,  GX4HRC/A  is
         active (CW only) from the QTH of Fred, G3SVK. QSL  via  G3SVK  (who
         still has the complete logs of the 3V8DX DXpedition in 1982).  [TNX

HI     - The Radio Club Dominicano will be active as HI1RCD from Isla  Beata
         (NA-122) from around 14 UTC on 9 April until 14 UTC  on  the  10th.
         Five operators will be QRV on 80-10 metres SSB. QSL via bureau.
KP4    - Special event station N4S will be active on 80-10 metres  SSB  from
         Puerto Rico on 11-12 April to commemorate the 50th  anniversary  of
         the first manned space flight by  Russian  cosmonaut  Yuri  Gagarin
         (12 April 1961) and the 30th anniversary of  the  first  flight  of
         the Space Shuttle Columbia (12 April 1981).  QSL  via  WP3GW.  [TNX

LA     - The 8-11 April LA6Q activity from IOTA group EU-079  [425DXN  1039]
         has been postponed to a later date.
SM     - Fred, SM7DAY  will  be  active  as  SM7DAY/p  from  Senoren  Island
         (EU-138) on 16-23 April. He will operate CW and/or SSB  on  the  HF
         bands. QSL via home call, direct or bureau. [TNX SM7DAY]
T6     - The Intrepid-DX Group continues to move forward  with  their  plans
         to conduct the T6PSE DXpedition [425DXN 1017] to  take  place  from
         Afghanistan during ten days in May. Due to security  concerns,  the
         exact dates and location of the DXpedition will  not  be  announced
         until the eve of their activation. Their primary  objective  is  to
         provide as many DXers as possible a "new one" with this  rare  DXCC
         entity and, as a secondary objective, to give  as  many  band-slots
         as possible. "We anticipate that we  will  be  working  EU  amateur
         stations nearly around the clock", they say, "but we will  ask  for
         their cooperation to allow us  to  work  North  and  South  America
         during those brief periods each day when  propagation  will  permit
         us to work those far away regions". The website for the  expedition

VE     - The "NA-128 Contest Group" (www.qsl.net/na128cg/)will be active  as
         XM2I from Isle-aux-Grues (NA-128, C.Is.A  QC-038)  on  29-31  July.
         They will be operate SSB, CW,  RTTY,  PSK31  on  80-6  metres  with
         "many stations", including an entry in the IOTA  Contest.  A  short
         activity from  Isle-aux-Oies  (C.Is.A.  QC-038)  might  take  place

AUSTRALIAN POSTAL RATES ---> Effective 4 April, the new  rates  for  airmail
letters are AUD 1.55 for destinations in  the  Asia/Pacific  zone,  and  AUD
2.25 for destinations in the rest  of  the  world.  Postage  calculator  and
currency  converter  on-line  services  are  provided  by    Australia  Post
(http://auspost.com.au/)

BRITISH POSTAL RATES ---> Stamp price  rises  in  the  United  Kingdom  took
effect on 4 April. The new rates for airmail letters are as follows:
Up to 10 gr     Europe   GBP 0.68       Rest of the world   GBP 0.76
Up to 20 gr                  0.68                               1.10
Up to 40 gr                  1.00                               1.65

QSL NAVASSA 1993 ---> Jun, OE1ZKC (JH4RHF) reports that  the  original  logs
for the 1993 DXpedition to Navassa  Island  have  been  retrieved  from  the
widow of Vance LePierre (N5VL/W5IJU),  the  team  leader  and  QSL  manager.
Should you still need a card for KH2S/KP1, KH2W/KP1, KH2Y/KP1,  NF6S/KP1  or
W5IJU/KP1, you can send your request to Jun  Tanaka,  P.O.  Box  1200,  1400
Wien, Austria. "I will try to put all of log  data  into  electric  format",

QSL SU1SK ---> Hawk, SM5AQD is the QSL route for SU1SK, but he  has  neither
the logs nor the blank QSL cards. He simply collects the QSLs (direct  only,
see qrz.com) and forwards the information to Said, who checks  his  log  and
mails the cards from Egypt. "I am very sorry", Hawk says, "but  a  QSL  card
via bureau is impossible to arrange for me and him". [TNX NG3K]

QSL V31JP ---> Lon Miller, KA9WON is no longer the QSL  manager  for  V31JP.
According to qrz.com, cards should be sent direct to Joseph L.  Pontek  Sr.,
P.O. Box 280, Dangriga, Stann Creek District, Belize. Joe also uses LoTW.

QSL ZL8X ---> "Nearly 4,000 letters are  out  now",  DL1MGB  reported  on  4
April, "All direct OQRS requests until end  of  February  were  sent.  Mario
[DJ2MX] will continue now with the direct mail he received". Please  refrain
from sending emails about your cards' status, as they  will  go  unanswered.
"Please be patient until we sent out ALL QSL cards".

+ SILENT KEYS + Lothar Wilke, DL3TD (ex DM2DUK and Y24UK) died at  58  years
of age in his house fire in the early hours of 7 April. He was DARC  DX  and
Contest manager, and the driving force  behind  the  successful  DF0HQ/DA0HQ
contest station.
Gerard LeDrean (F6IJW) passed away a few days ago after a  long  illness  of
heart complications. Gerard was also active  in  the  1980s  as  FH8CL  from
Mayotte and FR5ER from Reunion Island.
Dianna R. Killeen (KB6NAN) passed away on  6  April  at  62  years  of  age.
"K6KLY, Russ, will be taking over QSLing chores as Dianna was a QSL  manager
for several stations", The Daily DX reports. "He expects to  have  the  logs
after April 23rd".
