4W, TIMOR-LESTE (Update). The Union de Radioaficionados Espanoles, URE,
(The Spanish Amateur Radio League) announced on their Web page (edited):
"Finally we have reached our goal, obtaining the callsign 4W6R for the
operation, thanks to the hard work of our local team (TKS Pascoela de
Carvalho) and to the kindly procedures of Mr. Celestino Nicolau and Mr.
Jose M de Araujo from ARCOM. Also the renting of the house that we will
use for accommodation and operation is OK.
We have 'incorporated' to our local team a compatriot displaced there
in Dili who has been an incalculable value for the pending management.
A lot of thanks to Agustin.
The solidarity and interest of organizations and particulars is remaining
patent in the numerous donations and contributions that we are receiving
for the project. Many thanks for your generosity!
Most of the materials have already gone out in a container --by air-,
by kindness of the FUP, to our destination. Finally the operators are
finalizing their preparations by getting their vaccinations. Our goals
are coming together step to step.
Looking for SPONSORS.... The majority of this project`s funding is
provided by the Alicante Provincial Government and by URE. The rest of
the budget, at this time, will be down to the operators although we have
already received news of some small but useful donations.
We would be very grateful if individuals and organisations could
consider making contributions to this project at any time, including
after the operation. Please bear in mind the following two considerations."

9A08, CROATIA (Special Event). Special event station 9A08P (Nine Alpha
ZERO EIGHT Papa) has been active since April 1st and will be active
through December 31st. Activity is to celebrate the City of Djurdjevac,
and operations will be on all bands and modes. A special QSL card will
be issued with a story on it. All QSOs will be confirmed automatically
via the bureau.
9Q, DEM. REP. OF CONGO (Attention VK/ZL stations). OPDX was informed
that operators Phil/9Q1TB and Georges/9Q1EK have been trying to call
the Oceania area between 0500-0600z, but find it is not easy. Out of
the thousands of QSO made, Georges has only made 21 QSOs from VK and
7 QSOs from ZL. Phil has only made 2 QSOs from VK and 2 QSOs from ZL,
and he is supposed to leave 9Q-land in June. Georges is expected to stay
in 9Q-land for possibly another 1 to 2 years (and he may be the only
active station in 9Q land on CW). Both operators would really like to
make QSOs with the Oceania area.
A5, BHUTAN (Just a reminder). Torben, OZ1TL, is expected to be active
as A52TL during his stay in May of 2008. He is expected to arrive in
Bhutan on May 2nd. Torben will be attending some of the inauguration
ceremonies of the new King of Bhutan. Activity will be mainly on CW
(almost exclusively) on most bands including 160/80/40 meters. QSL
via his home callsign. He also plans to use the LoTW.
ADXO WEB SITE ENHANCEMENT. Bill, NG3K, informs OPDX that he has installed
a new feature on his "Announced DX Operations (ADXO)" Web page at:
http://www.ng3k.com/Misc/adxo.html
Beginning April 25, 2008, active DX operations now include a link to the
DX Watch spot database. The link takes the form - [spots] - and is located
beneath the callsign in the Call field for most active DX operations listed
in ADXO. A user clicking on this link will view a real-time list of recent
DX Cluster spots for the call in question. Users can, if they choose, open
the link in a new tab or window. This enhancement lets users immediately
see whether or not an announced DX operation has actually been spotted,
which bands and modes the operator is using, and where his signal is being
heard. Bill states, "For the present, links are not provided for additional
operators at some multi-op operations. But, if ADXO users find the new
capability useful, I may try to expand its coverage to multi-op expeditions.
I am also considering using this capability as a tool for weeding out
announced operations that, for whatever reason, never took place. Comments
and suggestions will be welcome and may be addressed to: Bill@ng3k.com
My thanks go to Felipe, PY1NB, and DX Watch for making this possible.
While you're visiting DX Watch, be sure to take the time to look around.
Felipe has created a remarkable and innovative 2nd generation DX spotting
application that integrates data from packet cluster, qrz.com, and 425DXN."
CN, MOROCCO (6/2m Activity). Andre, HB9HLM, will be active as CN2DX from
IM63BM on 6m and 2m between July 26th and August 8th. He will have 100

commemorative trophy. You can repeat the contacts on different bands
only. On May 5th a winner will be picked for the trophy. A special

EU-123. A few operators from Glasgow are going on a speedy boat to
activate a few islands in the Firth of Clyde, May 3-4th, and
all of them are in IOTA EU-123. This is a good opportunity to
work some rare islands for IOSA and SCOTIA awards. The team
consists of: Jurij/MM0DFV, John/GM0WRR, Davie/MM0GDL and
hopefully Alan/GM4TOQ. The Glasgow team is not sure yet which
islands will be activated; it depends on the weather conditions
and other circumstances. The callsigns to be used are: MS0EPC
for PSK contacts, and MS0DGR - for other modes. Each island
would be visited for about 2-3 hours. Separate full colored QSL
cards will be printed for each island. They are hopeful that
they will activate: Horse Island (SC21), Lady Island (SC28),
Ailsa Craig Island (SC28), Pladda Island (SC21), Inchmarnock

accepted). They are taking very light portable antennas and
radios, nothing fancy, 100 watts output power. The boat captain
