3Y0L ---> The 12-operator Peter I Team is now fully assembled for the 2027
DXpedition, bringing together an experienced multinational group composed of
four operators from Europe, six from North America, and two from Japan. With
departure scheduled for 22 January, preparation remains on track: equipment
planning for tents, generators, radios, amplifiers, and antennas is under-
way, and the shipping container has reached Colombia en route to Punta Are-
nas.
To ensure safety and maximize the probability of success, the team has con-
tracted a professional four-person support crew experienced with Antarctic
logistics and recent visits to the island. The fundraising campaign is in
progress. A major portion of the USD 1.95 million budget covers the vessel,
two helicopters, and professional contractor fees. All of these major costs
require upfront payment; only minor expenses - like return container ship-
ping - will remain after the DXpedition. Donations are gratefully accepted:

INDEXA INCREASES SUPPORT TO 3Y0L --- > The International DX Association
(INDEXA) has increased its financial support for the February 2027 Peter I
Island DXpedition (3Y0L) from $10,000 to $15,000, recognising the exception-
al scale, cost and logistical complexity of the undertaking. Ranked #7 on
Club Log's Most Wanted list, Peter I Island is one of the rarest and most
challenging DXCC entities to activate, owing to its remote Antarctic loca-
tion, difficult landing conditions, surrounding pack ice, and extreme weath-
er. The increased grant reaffirms INDEXA's commitment to supporting ambi-
tious expeditions that make otherwise inaccessible entities available to the
worldwide amateur radio community.
VK9XY: IOTA CREDIT ---> Only QSOs made with members of the VK9XY on-island
team (7Q6UJ, HA1TMP, JJ1AHS, KN2P, KN4DLY, LY7J, N4ML, NT1S, VK4OTZ, W0GJ,
W4IPC, and W6IZT) will be eligible for IOTA credit. Please visit the VK9XY
Live Band Activity page: https://vk9xy2026.com/live/live-band-activity. QSOs
with on-island team members are clearly flagged to make verification easy.
The VK9XY website also provides a broad range of DXpedition information, in-
cluding operational statistics and live activity metrics. VK9XY will be
active from Christmas Island (OC-002) from 16 November through 4 December.
