9A     - Special event station 9A10P will be active through the end  of  the
         year to celebrate the city of Djurdjevac. A  special  QSL  will  be
         issued and all of the QSOs will be confirmed automatically via  the

9A     - Look for 9A/HA6NL (or 9A0NL) and 9A/HA6PS to be active from  Pasman
         Island (EU-170) on 21-30 July, IOTA Contest included. QSL via  home

9A     - Alen  9A3MA,  Rolando  9A3MR),  Ante  9A8RA  and  Zik  VE3ZIK  will
         participate in  the  IOTA  Contest  as  9A1CKL  from  Zirje  Island
         (EU-170).  Before  the  contest  they  will  operate  under   their

9Q     - "9Q50AR   is  a  special  event  callsign  to  celebrate  the  50th
         anniversary of the independence of the Democratic Republic  of  The
         Congo", DX World reports. It will be aired from  the  club  station
         in Kinshasa by different local operators until  the  end  of  2010.
         Please be patient with them, as they "might not be skilfull  enough
         to handle huge pile ups".
9X     - Tom, DL2RUM will be going on a  business  trip  to  Kigali,  Rwanda
         next week, and will remain there until late August-early  September
         with a few interruptions (6-8 days each).  Tom  hopes  to  get  his
         9X0TL licence on 21 July, and to operate on  80-6  metres  CW,  SSB

A4     - A team from the Royal Omani Amateur Radio Society will  participate
         in the IOTA Contest as A43MI from Masirah Island (AS-014). QSL  via

CT7    - Members of the Portuguese Navy  amateur  radio  group  (Nucleo   de
         Radioamadores da  Armada)  will  operate  as  CR5FC  from  Cacilhas

EA     - Celebrating the victory  of  the  FIFA  World  Cup,  amateur  radio
         stations from Spain may use special  prefixes  until  31  July.  EA
         stations may use AO, EB stations may use AM  and  EC  stations  may

EA8    - Luke, SQ9IVD will be active  as  EA8/SQ9IVD    from  Fuerteventura,
         Canary Islands (AF-004) between 19  July  and  5  August.  He  will
         operate holiday style on the HF bands CW, with some SSB  and  RTTY.

EI     - Members  of  the  Galway  Radio  Experimenters  Club  (EI4GRC)  and
         Shannon Basin Radio Club (EI2SBC)  will  participate  in  the  IOTA
         Contest as EJ3Z (QSL via EI3Z)  from  Inishbofin  Island  (EU-121).
         Before the contest the operators will be  active  using  their  own
         callsigns and EJ4GRC on the HF and VHF bands.  Operators  mentioned
         are EI2EO,  EI2II,  EI3ER,  EI3HA,  EI4AL,  EI4CF,  EI5GT,  EI6GGB,

ER     - Commemorating  the  240th  anniversary  of  the  Battle  of  Kagul,
         special event station ER240C will be active until  31  July.  Email

FW     - The  Japanese  operators  on  Futuna  (OC-118)  [425DXN  995]  have
         changed their callsigns and are using FW5F  (QSL  via  JA2NQG)  and

G      - The Cray Valley Radio Society will be  active  from  the  Isles  of
         Scilly (EU-011) on 20-26 July,  including  an  entry  in  the  IOTA
         contest as M8C. Before the contest they will operate on 17, 12  and
         6 metres using G3RCV/p; after the contest G3RCV/p  will  be  active
         on all bands. Also look for G0FDZ/p to  be  active  on  60  metres,
         especially on 24-25 July. The  Cray  Valley  team  will  be  G0FDZ,

GM     - The Kilmarnock  and  Loudoun  Amateur  Radio  Club  will  have  two
         stations active in the IOTA Contest. GM0ADX  will  be  active  from

GU     - Darren, G0TSM will be active as GU0TSM from Guernsey  (EU-114)  for
         the IOTA Contest. Operating time will be limited,  so  he  will  be
         entering one of the 12-hour sections. "Depending on  the  weather",
         he says, "I hope to be operating from one of  the  islands  beaches

GW     - The Barry Amateur Radio  Society  will  be  active  as  GB5FI  from
         Flatholm Island (EU-124) on 22-27 July.  During  the  IOTA  Contest

HS     - Simon, HS0ZIB will participate in  the  IOTA  Contest  as  HS0ZIB/p
         from Lanta Island (AS-053). Expect him to operate primarily  on  20
         metres SSB as a SO LP  12H  entry.  Outside  the  contest  he  will

IS0    - Massimo, I0PNM will be active as IM0/I0PNM from San  Pietro  Island
         (EU-165) from 22 July to 20 August. He will operate  SSB  and  RTTY
         on 20,  15  and  10  metres  and  will  also  be  active  from  the

JW     - OZ1AA,  OZ1IKY  and  OZ7AM  will  be  active  as  JW/homecall  from
         Spitsbergen  (EU-026),  Svalbard  on  23-27   July.    They    will

KL     - Celebrating his Golden Jubilee in Amateur Radio,  Wayne K9YNF  will
         be active as  K9YNF/KL7 from  Fox Island  in the rare  NA-197  IOTA
         group on 16-20 August. He will  be QRV  around 14260  and 18128 kHz
         SSB using solar power. His pilot station will be K9JE (k9je-

LA     - Erling, LA4FPA will be active from Vigra  Island  (EU-056)  between
         18 July and 2 August. He  will  operate  on  the  HF  bands  and  6
         metres, plus satellites FO-29, AO-51,  HO-68  and  possibly  VO-52.

LA     - Harald, DL7VSN and his father in law Reiner, DL3BRE will be  active
         on 80-6 metres from Vardo Island (EU-141) on 23-27 July. They  will
         participate in the IOTA Contest as LA/DL3BRE (CW). [TNX DL7VSN]
LZ     - Gabriele LZ/IK3GES, Stan LZ1GC/1, Boyan  LZ1BJ/1  and  Ely  LZ1JB/1
         will be active from  Sveta  Anastasiya  Island  (EU-181)  on  23-27
         July. They plan to use 1000 watts into a beam and wire antennas  on
         40, 30, 20, 17 15, 12 and 10 metres. QSL  via  home  calls,  bureau

OH     - OH1JO and OH1LEG will be active as  OH1K  from  Kaunissaari  Island
         (EU-140) on 23-28 July. They will try to operate on  two  different

OZ     - Jakob, OZ7AEI will be active from  a  few  lighthouses  located  in
         IOTA group EU-172 between 18 and 23 July. Look for OZ7AEI/p  on  20

PA     - Ray, PE1GUR will be active as PA6FUN from Ameland  Island  (EU-038)
         on 17-25 July. He plans to operate on 30,  20,  17  and  12  metres

PJ7    - "Sint Maarten planning is well underway", W8GEX says [425DXN  993].
         Joe W8GEX and Craig K9CT, co-leaders,  have  secured  property  for
         the CW and SSB stations to be located on east  and  west  sides  of
         the island. Four stations will be on continuously and manned  by  a
         12-person team of experienced international  operators.  Logistical
         planning was completed for all of the equipment. Their plan is  "to
         provide a loud signal for everyone to get a new  DXCC  on  10/10/10
         for 10 days". More information will be  available  on  a  dedicated
         website.
SM     - Thomas, SM3DMP  will  be  active  as  SF2CW  from  Stora  Fjaderagg
         (EU-135) on 20-22 July. He will operate holiday style on 20 and  30
         metres CW, with some activity on or around 14260 kHz as  well.  QSL

SM     - Celebrating  its  10th  anniversary,  SI9AM (the King Chulalongkorn
         Memorial Amateur Radio Society, www.si9am.se) will be active on  24
         July. They will be QRV for Thai stations on 20 metres SSB  starting

SV     - David, OK6DJ will be active  as  SV8/OK6DJ  from  Zakynthos  Island
