   First Worry Later" (WFWL).

3C9B AND 3C0C DXPEDITION. As of press time, no word on these operations
has been reported on their Web page. We would have thought that the 3C9B

by now. For more details and updates on the 3C0C and 3C9B DXpeditions,
visit the Web page at: http://www.3c0c-annobon.com

just make good contacts on 20 meters with South Africa and when conditions
are better I can work some EUs. Very few US and JA in my log, and I'm
wondering what is the best opening from JA and USA through Antarctica.
Feel free to send me an E-mail to schedule skeds, I'll be pleased to do
so. My E-mail adress is: bplovemaitri@rediffmail.com

PACIFIC ODYSSEY 2010 TOUR (Update/Operation Cancelled). On May 27th, members
of the Ukrainian DXpeditioners Team (UDXT) announced the following:
"We apologize to the world radioamateur community – for the reasons
independent of us, we are not able to carry out the expedition.
On the 25th of May at 10 p.m. local time the engine of our ship
"Southern Cross" fell out when we were 120 nm from Kanton island.
The captain Paul Green decided to turn the ship and go back to the port
of Apia, Samoa, under sails. Such decision was determined by the fact
that the entry to the Kanton's cove without engines would be impossible,
and the repair of engine in the ocean is impossible too.
The way to Apia, Samoa, will take approximately 8-10 days with favorable
wind under sails. The food and water must suffice. Our main task at the
moment is to come back safe to Apia."
For more information and updates, please visit the DXpedition's Web
site at: http://www.uz1hz.com/pacificodyssey.html

event by working from the territories of the national natural parks and
reserves of the world – Especially Protected Nature Territories (EPNT)
   – included into the WFF Directory. See the WFF Directory at:

GMFF-024 - For the first time GM4FFF will be working from Flanders Moss
National Nature Reserve (GMFF-024) between May 29-30th. Flanders Moss
National Nature Reserve (NNR) is one of the largest areas of relatively
undisturbed lowland raised bog in the European Community. Because of its
natural heritage importance, it has been designated a European Special
Area of Conservation (SAC) and a Site of Special Scientific Interest
(SSSI). Quite simply, it is probably the biggest and best remaining
raised bog in Western Europe. It is one of the last remaining natural
landscapes in Scotland and is home to many plants, insects and birds.
It also tells a fascinating story of the social and cultural history of
people living in this part of Scotland. There is much to interest people.
The team consists of MM0DFV, GM0WRR, and GM0EZP. They are going to
contact the reserve's manager to make sure that they can have a place
to stay overnight. The most important location references
   are - WAB Square: NS69; Grid Locator: IO76VD; Latitude: 56°09'12''N;
Longitude: 04°10'39''W; IOTA: EU-005; EU Area: SC30 (Stirling). QSL

ZL8, ZERMADEC ISLANDS (Update). Announced on May 10th, the Zermadec team
finally signed the charter contract to sail with the "MV Claymore II" to
Raoul Island in November 2010. Nigel Jolly, owner of the well-known
Braveheart, purchased this ship in 2009. Originally built in 1966 in
Wilhelmshaven, Germany, she now mainly serves the route between Mangareva
and Pitcairn Island to deliver cargo supplies to Pitcairn Island and to
carry passengers between the islands. While the Braveheart will carry out
another DXpedition at nearly the same time, the team is proud to be the
first DXpedition to use the "MV Claymore II". Though the ship isn't used
to the special needs and habits of amateur radio expeditions, the crew
definitely knows what they are doing. Nigel and his son Matt have access
to several experienced seamen who all took part in demanding expeditions
(of course also DXpeditions like ZL8R, ZL9CI, FT5XO, VP8GEO/THU or VP6DX).

ZS8M, MARION ISLAND (Update). Pierre, ZS1HF, on Marion Island (AF-021),
was mainly active on 20 meters this past week. Best times to watch are
between 0630-0730z and after 1230z. Frequencies he has been on are:
14245-14250 kHz. QSL Manager is Dirk, ZS1X. See QRZ.com for details.
