By the time you are reading this the VK9NA Dxpedition will be almost upon
us.
We are now in that period of madly finishing our packing, checking and
double checking our lists to ensure we miss nothing. In fact, our
preparation has been relatively smooth. We had some minor mishaps in our
trial runs, but these have been resolved, and in fact we have made some
improvements.
We have already shipped the dish, our antenna and masts, along with the
uWave transverters, and these have arrived safely on the island. In fact, we
have air freighted 92kg of gear. There will be about another 40Kg of gear as
carry on, so there will be lots to be done when we first arrive.
We would like to remind you that if you need to see if we are about,
remember to check the VKlogger. There is good WiFi Broadband right across
the island, and this will be the best medium to keep track of which bands we
are on. VK9NA is already registered as a user on the logger, and you can
check now for beam headings and distance.
We look forward to working all of you when we are on Norfolk Island.
