7P - The 3DA0RU team went QRT from eSwatini on 21 October around 3 UTC,
and is now expected to be QRV as 7P8RU from Lesotho starting on 22
October until 4 November. Six operators (R5EC, R7AL, RA1ZZ, RU3UR,
RW9JZ and OK8AU) will be active on 160-6m CW, SSB and FT8 (Fox &
Hound) with four stations. QSL via Club Log's OQRS (preferred),
LoTW, or via R7AL. See https://dxpedition.wixsite.com/7p8ru for
more information.
8Q - Remo, HB9SHD will be active again as 8Q7RM from the Maldives (AS-
013) on 1-30 November. He will operate mainly FT8, with some SSB
and slow CW, on 40-6 metres (and possibly 80m) on a daily basis
"for several hours". QSL via home call (direct or bureau), Club
Log's OQRS and LoTW.
C6 - Richard NN2T, his wife Linda KN4KJC and maybe others will be active
as C6AHB from the Bimini Islands (NA-048) between 27 October and 3
November. They will operate SSB and digital modes, and will take
part in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest. QSL via LoTW, Club Log's OQRS, or
direct to NN2T. See https://www.biminidxpedition.com/ for more in-
formation.
CN - CN46MS will be active from 25 October to 10 November to commemorate
the 46th anniversary of the so-called Marche Verte (Green March).
QSL via CN8WW.
FG - Once again Philippe, F1DUZ will be active as FG4KH from Guadeloupe
(NA-102) from 20 October to 2 November, including an entry in the
CQ WW DX SSB Contest. QSL via home call, LoTW and eQSL. [TNX DX
World]
HA - Klara, HA5BA will be signing HA1956BA until 31 October. The special
callsign marks the anniversary of the Hungarian Uprising of 1956,
which broke out the very same day Klara was born (23 October). QSL
via the bureau. [TNX HA5BA]
HC8 - EA5KA has cancelled his participation in the upcoming HD8R DXpedi-
tion to the Galapagos Islands [425DXN 1586], and has been replaced
by Gerard, F2JD. Operations are expected to begin on 26 October. A
6m FT8 beacon, sending HD8R/B during even periods, will be active
24/7 on 50313 kHz: if there is an opening, HD8R will be on 50103
kHz CW, SSB or FT8 if signals are not audible for human modes. A
few team members will participate in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest: "ca-
tegory is still unknown", EA7X says, "we'll decide it once we
setup. It could be M/2 or M/M". QSL via EA5RM. More information can
be found on http://www.dxfriends.com/hd8r/.
JA - Look for JI3DST/5, JR8YLY/5 and JR8YLY/p (FT8) to be active again
from Shodo Island (AS-200) from 20 October to 4 November. The QSOs
will be uploaded to Club Log and made available for Club Log
Matching on the IOTA website.
ON - OQ05PHI is the special callsign for UBA Section de Philippeville to
celebrate its fifth anniversary from 23 October to 22 November. QSL
via ON4PHI.
PA - Look for Eddy, PA/DM5JBN to operate CW and FT8 from Texel Island
(EU-038) on 20-26 October. QSL via home call, LoTW and eQSL. [TNX
The Daily DX]
PJ4 - PE1OJR will be active holiday style as PJ4/PE1OJR from Bonaire (SA-
006) on 22-29 October. He will operate SSB and FT8/FT4 mainly on 40
and 20 metres. QSL via LoTW. [TNX DX World]
PJ7 - Janusz, SP9FIH will be active as PJ7P from Sint Maarten (NA-105)
from 21 October to 3 November. Owing to space limitations, he will
operate SSB, FT8, RTTY on four bands only (30, 15, 12 and 10m).
QSL via Club Log's OQRS (preferred), or via home call. See
http://www.pj7.dxpeditions.org/ for updates.
UA - Celebrating the 325th anniversary of the Russian Navy, special
callsigns R325FR (QSL via R3TKM) and R325WMF (QSL via RA4DAR) are
expected to be active on 27-31 October. The modern Russian Navy was
created at the initiative of Peter the Great (30 October 1696).
XW - "More rules have been imposed on my licence renewal", Simon XW0LP
says, "which make it hard to justify to stay in Laos. Together with
the crash in the local economy due to no foreign tourists, it's not
difficult to make the decision to move again to a new location. I'm
leaving Laos around the end of November". His new destination will
be disclosed in due course. [TNX DX World]

Access to the main functions of www.425dxn.org is provided by the 425DXN App
for Android. It is available on Google Play - free of charge, no ads. Enjoy!
3Y0J YOUTUBE CHANNEL ---> "This narrow area of volcanic rock at Kapp Fie
will be our QTH, 250 feet above the black sand beach where we will be
landing in Zodiacs. See it now in 4K HD full screen mode. Yagis, verticals
and our tents will be up here": https://youtu.be/YaMaR21075U. The team plans
"on having video updates from landing to leaving and all the fun in between"
including interviews with all the operators.
INDEXA: NEW MAILING ADDRESS ---> Dick Williams, W3OA is retiring as Secre-
tary/Treasurer for the International DX Association (https://indexa.org/)
after many years of service. The newly elected Secretary/Treasurer is Hal
Turley, W8HC. Consequently, the new mailing address for INDEXA is: Interna-
tional DX Association, 2309 Lincoln Avenue, Saint Albans WV 25177, USA. Any
mail sent to Dick will be transferred over to Hal during the transition
period. ATTENTION QSL MANAGERS: if any of you are including INDEXA applica-
tion stuffers with your QSL cards, please contact Bob Schenck, N2OO and he
will have new ones sent to you. In the meantime, you can continue using the
current ones. [TNX W8HC]
PZ5G ---> Originally planned for 15-18 October [425DXN 1560], the PZ5G IOTA
DXpedition to Papegaaien Island (SA-092) had to be cut short as the high
tide gave the operators serious and unexpected problems. "We were the first
team to stay overnight", DJ4EL says, "and noticed that it is almost impossi-
ble to stay on Papegaaien while the water is high". Before evacuating the
island, they made 441 QSOs between 01.43 UTC and 13.25 UTC on 16 October.
The log has been uploaded to Club Log and the OQRS has been enabled.
QSL EL2DT ---> Bob, N2OO is the new QSL manager for Dickson, EL2DT. Depend-
ing on the date of your QSOs, two different Online QSL Request Systems
should be used:
1) For QSOs made ON OR AFTER 12 SEPTEMBER 2018, please use Club Log's OQRS
(https://secure.clublog.org/logsearch/el2dt); additional uploads may be
delayed.
2) For QSOs made BEFORE 12 SEPTEMBER 2018, please use https://oqrs.net/n2oo/
but be advised that older logs are on paper and they are arriving slowly.
Currently Bob has the logs for the periods 10 AUGUST 2000-9 JULY 2001 and
30 MAY 2013-29 NOVEMBER 2015. More logs are expected, and when Bob re-
ceives them, he will update the dates. Please refrain from requesting QSL
cards if your QSOs do not fall within the date ranges listed there.
N2OO also accepts traditional direct and bureau cards, see his qrz.com page
for more information.
WSJT-X 2.5.1 ---> The WSJT Development Group has announced the General
Availability release of WSJT-X Version 2.5.1: "this release mainly contains
improvements and defect repairs related to Q65 and JT65 modes when used with
non-standard and compound calls. Also included is a new feature for micro-
wave aircraft scatter and repairs for defects detected since the 2.5.0 GA
release". See https://physics.princeton.edu//pulsar/k1jt/wsjtx.html for the
links to the installation packages for Windows, Linux and Macintosh.
