several different locations in Uruguay. On April 19th and 20th he will
activate the Puerto del Buceo West Breakwater lighthouse (ARLHS URU-014)
between 0000 - 2359 UTC daily, on 80, 40, 20 and 15 meter SSB. QSL via

17/04/2009:  Joe/AA4NN (C6DX), Carl/N4AA (C6AAA), Janet/W8CAA (C6AYL)
and Joe/W8GEX (C6DX) will be active April 17-24th from Eleuthera Island
(NA-001), Bahamas. They will operate CW, SSB and RTTY on all bands. QSL
C6AAA via N4AA direct Bureau LoTW, QSL C6AYL and C6DX via W8GEX, direct

17/04/2009:  Operators Klaus/DK6AO, Gunter/TI7WGI, Andy/DH8WR (EA2CRX),
Norbert/DL2RNS, Rene/DL2JRM and Daniel/DL5YWM plan to activate Isla San
Jose, Murcielago Islands (NA-191), Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica, as
TI7xxx from April 17-20th. Note: TI7xxx is not the real callsign, that
will be announced later. They plan to operate around the clock on 160-10
meters, using SSB, CW, RTTY and PSK31. QSL via DK6AO, direct or Bureau.

17/04/2009:  Wim, XU7TZG will once again be active from Koh Russei [aka
Bamboo Island] from 0500z April 17th to 0500z April 20th. It will be a
one-man-mini-iota-dxpedition on IOTA AS-133 with the callsign XU7KOH.
KOH means island. QRV on, or around, the IOTA frequencies: 3.755, 7.055,
14.260, 18.128, 21.260, 24.950, 28.460, and 28.560 MHz, SSB only. He
will try some PSK31 when tired of holding the mic. QSL only direct with

18/04/2009:  Malik, 4X4JU reports that several mobile stations will be
active during the Holyland contest (April 18, 0000z-2400z). The list

18/04/2009:  The Algarve STAR DX Team will activate Doca Olhao (Parsena
Olhao) West Lighthouse (ARLHS POR-129, DFFA Fa-32 for the Algarve

18/04/2009:  Saturday, April 18th, François, F5JNE along with Claude

le Bocage (DDCF 77-16), Department Seine-et-Marne/77 and Province

18/04/2009:  The Camb-Hams will be active as GM3PYE/p and GS3PYE/p from
the Island of Harris (EU-010, IOSA OH01, SCOTIA HI21, WLOTA 2075)
bwtween April 18-25th. Seamus/2M0OVV, Alan/2M0TXY, Voi/G0BOE,
Geoff/G0DDX, Bob/G1SAA, Neil/G4HUN, Rob/M0VFC, Gavin/M1BXF and
Allan/MM1BJP. They plan to operate on most HF bands with two stations
(SSB and digital modes), with activity also on 6, 4 and 2 meters and
possibly 70cm (SSB, JT6m and MS). Basecamp is a holiday cottage near
Liceasto at the head of Loch Stockinish on the East side of the Island
of Harris. It has a good view to EU and a reasonable path through the

18/04/2009:  The Adventure Radio Group of the Michiana Amateur Radio
Club (W9AB) will activate Monkey Island (Not IOTA, USi IN-005R), located

(JT1ZP) will be active from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, between April 21st
and 28th. They will be active from two places - one is a radio room of
JT1KAA and the other is the Amure Hotel. QRV 80-6m, possibly 160m

21/04/2009:  Sharon/K7WZB and Garry/K9WZB will be operating from Grand
Cayman Island (NA-016, WLOTA 1042, Grid EK99) from April 21st to May 6th
as ZF2ZB. QRV all bands 160-6 meters using SSB, RTTY, CW and PSK-31.
They will be monitoring 6 meters most of the time for opening to US and

22/04/2009:  Hrane (YT1AD Team Leader) David (K3LP Co-Team Leader) are
in the process of organizing two (2) up coming South Pacific
DX-Peditions: 1 - ZK3 Tokelau Island and T31 Central Kiribati (Ex-Canton
Island), 2 - Conway Reef (3D2C). 1st Trip ZK3 and T31 is planned for
April 2010 or end of September 2010. 2nd Trip 3D2C is planned for the
end of September 2011. Hrane (YT1AD) and Miki (YU1DW) will travel from
April 20, 2009 to May 7, 2009 in the South Pacific islands to organizing
these DX-Peditions. Hrane and Mike will be active from the following
islands. The schedule will be as follows: April 22, 2009 5W8A (YT1AD)
and 5W0DW (YU1DW); April 22-24, 2009 KH8/N9YU (YT1AD); April 25 and May
4, 2009, 3D2AD (YT1AD) and 3D2DW (YU1DW) Fiji Island; April 27-29, 2009

24/04/2009:  Kasimir, DL2SBY, will be active from Liechtenstein between
April 24th and May 4th. Activity will be on HF bands (80-10m) using CW,
SSB and RTTY. Equipment will be a TS2000, FT900AT, Ameritron AL811, HF9V
vertical and a monoband vertical for 30/40m. Activity will also take
place on 13cm and 23cm using EME. Equipment will be a FT726R, Dish 3,
7m, and 2 amplifier for both bands. Kasmir will use two separate
callsigns for this operation. For the HF bands, he will use HB0/DL2SBY
and for the EME activity will sign HB0/DF1SR. QSL via DL2SBY, by the

24/04/2009:  Andy/IZ0EHO and Vincenzo/IZ0FKE will activate Vulcano
Island (EU-017, IIA ME-018, MIA MI-122, WLOTA 1001) using the callsign

24/04/2009:  Jim, MM0BQI will be active as homecall/p from Lunga Island
in the Treshnish Isles (EU-108, IOSA NH17, SCOTIA DI09) April 24-27th.

LOOKING AHEAD -

25/04/2009:  Bob, VK0BP will be active from Davis Base (WABA VK-03, WAP
AUS-03, IOTA AN-016), Antarctica, using the special callsign AX0BP on
April 25th to celebrate ANZAC Day. He is able to use this callsign from
midnight 'til midnight local time (Davis is UTC +7). Bob will not be
operating for the full 24 hours, but will do his very best to operate as
long as possible that day. As an Australian operator they can use the AX
prefix just 3 times per year, Australia Day which he has already done,
ANZAC Day coming up in a couple of weeks, and then the last opportunity
for Bob to use the AX0BP callsign whilst he is down there will be on
World Telecommunications Day (17th May) - at this stage he hopes to use
it again then too. QSL via VK2CA direct only - 2US and SAE preferred.

30/04/2009:  Belgian team of five "well prepared and trained
Dxpeditioners" will attempt a landing on Rockall Island (EU-189) between
April 30th and May 1st. Depending on the weather and sea conditions,
they will be on the air with two stations using the callsign MM0RAI/p
for about 48 hours. Operators are: Theo/ON4ATW, Patrick/ON4HIL,

03/05/2009:  The Blackstone Valley ARC, W1DDD will be active March 3rd
for the New England QSO Party at the Fort Getty campground on the island

the recently refurbished Dutch Island Lighthouse. Their plans are to
activate the Dutch Island lighthouse (ARLHS USA 250, TWLHD WLH K-051,

23/07/2009:  C6APR will be in the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 25-26th) from
Crooked Island (NA-113), Bahamas, as a Multi-operator, Mixed-mode, High
Power, DXpediton entry. The team is Peter/W2GJ, Ed/K3IXD, Dallas/W3PP,
and Jim/K4QO. Before and after the contest (from July 23 to 27th) C6APR
will be on 80m to 10m including the WARC bands, CW and SSB. The team
will sign C6AXD on RTTY and C6AQO on 6m (grid FL22). The calls are good
for Bird Rock Lighthouse (ARLHS BAH-005, TWLHD WLH C6-002, WLOTA 0118,
Admiralty J 4792) as well as IOTA NA-113 and Grid Locater FL22tt. All

23/07/2009:  Members of the NA-128 Contest Group will activate the
special callsign CG2ØØI (Charly Golf Two Hundred India) from Ile Verte
(NA-128, CIsA QC-015, Grid FN58) between July 23-26th, including an
entry in the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 25-26th), to commemorate the 200th
anniversary of the lighthouse (ARLHS CAN-244, WLOTA 1404). Operators
mentioned are Frank/VA2RC, Martin/VA2ZO, Eric/VE2EDA, Dany/VE2EBK,
Jean/VE2FSK, Steve/VE2TKH, Martin/VE2MTK and Guy/VE2QRA. The group will
operate many stations from the lighthouse keeper's quarters on all bands
(160-6 meters) and all major modes (AO-51, SSB, CW and RTTY/PSK31).
During the IOTA Contest, a station will be dedicated to the contest
exclusively on SBB or CW. The QSL is via VE2CQ, direct or Bureau. Note:
NA-128 is made up of more than 45 islands, rocks and smaller reefs and
more than half of them are accessible for future NA-128 expeditions.

24/11/2009:  A Multi National Team will be QRV from Juan Fernandez
Island (SA-005, DICE ICE-004, WLOTA 0153) as XR0ZN between November 24th

(November 28-29th). Team members include Marco/CE6TBN, Rag/LA6FJA,
Arne/LA7WCA, Terje/LA8BCA, Ole/LA6EIA, Paul/LA5FJA and Yuri/RA0FU. QRV

NY (K2A)-NJ (K2I)-RI (K2C)-GA (K2G)-PA (K2M)-NH (K2K)-SC (K2L)-VA
(K2B)-CT (K2D)-DE (K2E)-MD (K2F)-MA (K2H)-NC (K2J) 1300 UTC July 1st to
0400 UTC July 5th 2009, all thirteen 1776 original colonies will be on
the air. One S.E. station per Colony state. A full color certificate
printed on heavy card stock or parchment paper, with a map and the state
flags of all the 1776 colony states will be available to to each station
who works one or more or ALL of the Special Event stations. Each colony
state worked will be marked by the shield of the United States by each
state flag. Special event call signs will be used.
All bands will be in play except 60M and the WARC bands. The Colony
stations will be operating on or near the "13" of each band (Eg.14.213,
14.313, 7.213, et.). 2 meter and 6 meter simplex is encouraged. For this
event 2 meter repeater contacts WILL be allowed - WHY? because all of
the SE stations are on the east coast and are very close to each other.
It will be harder for these states to contact each other, also 40m-160m
is encouraged because of this.

22/04/2009:  Members of the Turkish group called TCSWAT (Special
Wireless Activity Team) will be active as TC57A once again from the

16/06/2009:  The 6 Meter Beacon Project, Inc. is happy to announce an
Expedition to Guyana (8R) from June 16 to July 6, inclusive. QRV HF-6m.
Conditions will be a JHV at 45 ft on the Atlantic Ocean QTF EU & NA, and
a 3CPX800A7. 11 days will be by Chris/W3CMP & Dave/N3DB, the other 11 by
Terry/K4RX & Ken/AC4TO. We hope to get some decent openings to, amongst
other places, Northern EU, 5B/4X & W6/7. Expect to have internet access

New RAC representative on the ARRL Contest Advisory Committee.

After more than ten years as RAC's representative on the ARRL Contest
Advisory Committee, David Shipman, VE7CFD, has asked to be replaced.

RAC has then chosen Sam Ferris, VE5SF, to replace David. The ARRL has
already been advised of our choice and Sam is already starting his work.

Radio Amateurs of Canada wants to thank Dave, VE7CFD, for the many years
he has served the Amateurs of Canada by being on this important
committee. We also wish Sam, VE5SF, all the best in his work.
