CE0Y/JJ2NYT from October 16 -19th. Activity will be on 40, 20, 17 and 15

16/10/2008:  Bill, WB5ZAM plans to be active as J68WI from the island of
St Lucia (NA-108, also count for WLOTA LH-1336) between October 16-30th.
Bill says "no contesting but plan to be as active as the bands allow. HF

16/10/2008:  Masa, JA6GXK will be QRV from Minami Torishima (OC-073,
JIIA OC-073-001) as JD1BMM from October 16th to November 6th, while on
work assignment. Activity will be on 160-10m (500 Watts) and 6 meters

16/10/2008:  Approximately 12 members of the Magnolia DX Association,
Inc., will activate East Ship Island (IOTA NA-082, USi MS-009, Harrison
County), Mississippi, and lighthouse (WLOL USA-756, WLOTA LH-1160, USCG
4-0337, WW Loc. EM50ME) during the period of October 16-19th. The call
sign K5S will be used during the entire 4-day period, plus the call sign
K5Z will be added during the last 2 days as an entry in the W/VE Islands
QSO Party (October 18-19th). Activity will be on 80-10 meters, using CW,

16/10/2008:  Joe/W8GEX, Joe/AA4NN, Janet/W8CAA, Jay/K4ZLE and Jim/K0RH
will be active as TO5DX from Saint Barthelemy Island (NA-146, DIFO

entry in the CQWW DX SSB Contest (October 25-26th). They plan to have

17/10/2008:  David, GI4FUM (EI4DJ) will be operating from Hawane Resort,
near Malolotja National Park, Swaziland, as 3DA0DJ from October 17-27th.
He was a member of the IRTS DXpedition to Swaziland in March 2007; this
year he will be with Daniel, ZS6JR and they will be using the same
equipment and antennas that were used for the CQ WPX SSB operation last
year (3DA0EI). David and Daniel will also operate as 3DA0SS (Swazi
Scouts) for the annual Jamboree On The Air (October 18-19th). Activity

17/10/2008:  Mek/SP7VC, Tadeusz/SP3IPB and Aga (YL)/SQ3WN are going to
sail the Caribbean between October 17th and November 15th. They will be
sailing on a 40 foot yacht and they are going to visit some DXCC
entities. This is a tourist trip but they intend to be active on HAM
bands from visited places. They will start at British Virgin Island (as
VP2V/homecall). They are going to participate CQWW DX SSB from VP2V (all
bands). On October 27 they start to Anguilla (VP2E), Saba (PJ5), Saint
Martin (FS), St. Marteen (PJ7), St. Eustatius (PJ6), Saint Barthelemy
(FJ), St. Kitts & Nevis (V4), Antigua (V2), Montserrat (VP2M),
Guadeloupe (FG), Dominica (J7) and Martinique (FM). They will not
operate on bands from VP2E nor from V4 but from other places are going
to be active on bands if it’s only possible. The team will be using
TS-50, IC-706MKIIG, PA - MLA 1200 (700W), vertical R-7 (40-10m),

17/10/2008:  Frank, PA2MRX will be active from Afghanistan October 17th
to November 2nd. QRV 20 meter PSK31, RTTY, CW (with PC), maybe SSTV,
with FT-817 (QRP 5 Watts) on 14.000, 14.070-14.090 and 14.230 MHz. He
will try every day, as time and work permits, from 1430 - 1730 UTC. QSL

18/10/2008:  Look for operators Ingolf/DL4JS, Rich/DK8YY,

6W/DL4JS from October 18-28th. Activity is planed for all HF-Bands in
CW, SSB and RTTY, maybe also on 6m depends on conditions. Hope to catch
as many callers as possible on low bands. They will be active with 2
stations, monoband beams for 20/15/10, dipoles, vertical for 160/80 and

active as HB0/HB9AON and will be celebrating their 25th DXpedition to
Triesenberg, Liechtenstein, between October 18-31st. Operators mentioned

18/10/2008:  Look for Ray, K7RFW to be active for the 2008 W/VE QSO
Party from Antelope Island (USi UT-001L, Not IOTA), located in Great
Salt Lake, Davis County, State of Utah. Ray states "due to the high
activity level this weekend I will try to operate on 14.260, 14.325, or
14.225 (lower edge of general band), or wherever it is clear. This is
JOTA weekend, so I will work JOTA stations". [USi]

18/10/2008:  Operators Craig/K9TEN, Ottis/KG4RWZ, Richard/K4XOX and
Stan/N3XP will be active from Goat Island (USi AL-029L, Not IOTA),
located in Smith Lake, Cullman County, State of Alabama for the 2008
W/VE QSO Party (October 18-19th). QRV with at least two, and probably
three transmitters on all bands allowed. They will be working SSB,
PSK31, RTTY, and, if one of the guys gets up the courage, CW, but please

18/10/2008:  Operators G3KHZ, G4EDG, CT1AGF and W5GAI will be active
from a couple of Most Wanted IOTAs - OC-181 (Witu Islands) and OC-041
(Ninigo group) - between 18 October and 4 November. Further information

18/10/2008:  Look for a group of operators to be active from Bonaire
(SA-006, WLOTA LH-1279) as PJ4E during the upcoming CQWW SSB contest.
WA4PGM, WK4Y, K6AM, K5GS, K4EJ, K0RAY and N0VD will likely operate as a
MM entry, but may change class depending on local circumstances. Before
the contest, WA4PGM, WK4Y, K4EJ and K0RAY will spend a few days on
Curacao (PJ2, SA-006, WLOTA LH-0942) October 18-21st, then be active
from PJ4 during October 21-28th. K6AM, K5GS and N0VD will be active on
PJ4 from October 18-29th. Before an after the contest all operators will

18/10/2008:  The W4USI Club Station will be QRV October 18-19th from
Amelia Island (NA-138, USi FL032S, WLOTA LH-3048, Nassau county), Talbot
Island (NA-138, USi FL-121S) Little Talbot Island (NA-138 USi FL-116S)
and several more ending at Blount Island (Not IOTA, USi FL396R), Duval
county, State of Florida. They will spend 2 hours on each island and

19/10/2008:  Sam, WT3Q will be active as V26B from the island of Antigua

20/10/2008:  The team for the IOTA expedition to PNG includes Al/AD6E,
Luis/CT1AGF, Derek/G3KHZ and Skip/W5GAI, plus one non-ham traveller.
They expect to be QRV as P29VLR (QSL via SM6CVX) from Garove Island,
Witu Islands (OC-181), from October 20-26th. The MV Barbarian II will
then sail to Akib Island, Hermit Islands (OC-041) where they will be QRV
as P29NI (QSL via G3KHZ) from October 28th to November 3rd. The final
leg will be to Manus Island (OC-025), from where there may be some
operation on November 4th, before the team flies home November 5th.
Suggested frequencies are: SSB - 28.560, 24.950, 21.260, 18.128, 7.055
and 3.755 MHz; CW - 28.040, 24.920, 21.040, 18.098, 14.040, 10.115 and

21/10/2008:  Dr. Karl-Heinz Ilg, DK2WV will once again be active from
Sierra Leone, this time with a team of operators. All training and
activity is plannned to take place in the time frame of October 21st to
November 11th. They expect to operate during this time under the call
sign 9L0W. The German participants mentioned are Roland/DJ4LK,
Franz/DJ9ZB, Karl/DK2WV, Hans/DL1YFF and one 9L1 national. Activity will
be on 160-6 meters. They are planning to operate with up to 3 stations
using amplifiers, Spiderbeams, phased arrays for the low-bands, K9AY
loops and/or beverages as low-band receiving antennas. QSL via DK2WV,

National Mills Award Day from the Stampkot Mill (reference WIM 8073),

21/10/2008:  The OM0C Contest Crew is pleased to announce a DXpedition
to Suriname. The group of 5 operators will be active as PZ5Z from
Suriname between October 21-30th, including an entry in the CQWW DX SSB
Contest (October 25-26th). Activity on all HF bands (160m-10m), and VHF
(6m and 2m) with the focus on low bands, especially 160m and EME on 2m.
It will be a very first time EME 2m operation from Suriname. Team
members include Rich/OM2TW, Joe/OM5AW, Steve/OM5AA, David/OK1RK,

22/10/2008:  Peter, G4MJS reports that he will be part of a team
visiting the 6Y1V contest station, Hopewell, Hanover Parish, Jamaica
(NA-097, also count for WLOTA LH-0214) at the end of October for the CQ
WW SSB contest. The station has 6m capabilities, and there's a good
chance he will get some time on the band before the contest - probably
October 22-24th. The station features a Kenwood TS-2000, Acom 1000
amplifier and stacked 4/4 SteppIR 6 element yagis. CQWW DX SSB Contest
operators include David/KY1V, Martin/G4XUM, David/G3NKC, Peter/G4MJS,
Manu/LU9ESD and Francesco/IZ7KHR. The team will be a Multi-2/High-Power

22/10/2008:  John, W5JON will be active as V4/W5JON from Ariel Heights,
North Frigate Bay, St. Kitts (NA-104, WW Loc. FK87SG) from October
22-31st. Activity is planned for 6-160m SSB, including an entry in the
CQWW DX SSB Contest (October 25-26th). The QTH is mountain top with a
330 degree view. Equipment will be IC-7000, RM Italy KL-400 Amplifier
(400 Watts), Alpha Delta 10-160 meter dipoles and a 3 element yagi on 6

23/10/2008:  Ed/K3IXD, Pete/W2GJ, Dallas/W3PP and Bob/W8ZA will be
active as C6APR from the Crooked Island Lodge, Pittstown Point, Crooked
Island (NA-113), Bahamas, in the multi-2 category during the CQWW SSB
contest (October 25-26th). The lodge manager has confirmed that the
lodge survived both Hanna and Ike hurricanes. Before and after the

Island (AS-128), Vietnam, for a family vacation November 05-13th. Their

3.5-28 MHz. Plans are to use an IC-7000 and K-2 transceivers running 100
watts only into vertical antennas. For 20 meters they will have a 2

The Alaska DX Club, KL7DX is planning a DXpedition to Gareloi Island
(NA-233), from July 21 to August 3, 2009. Gareloi is the largest (at 67
km² in area) and northernmost island of the Delarof Islands - a small
group that sits at western end of the Andreanof Islands. The island
faces the Amchitka Pass on the west across to the Rat Islands. Other
activities planned: real halibut fishing and possibly side trip to
Amchitka (Rat Islands, 5% claimed). Costs: unknown at this time, but
with more $ bigger boat can be chartered (60' v 32') and boat will be on
our schedule, not other way around. Approximately $10k/person is
