3W     - 3W3MD, the Mediterraneo DX Club's DXpedition to  Vietnam  which  is
         scheduled to take place from 31  October  to  10  November  [425DXN
         1253], will also activate Cham  Island  (AS-162).  While  the  main
         team will continue operating from Da Nang, a few operators will  go
         and be QRV as 3W3MD/p from the island, with  two  stations  and  "a
         couple of antennas". QSL via  IK2VUC,  direct  or  bureau.  Further

5T    -  Jean,  5T0JL  reports   that  Ahmad,  9K2AI  is  now  stationed  in
         Nouakchott, Mauritania "for some  years".  He  has  applied  for  a
         licence, and will operate SSB only.
CT8    - Forthcoming operations from the Azores, with participation  in  the
         WAE DX SSB Contest, include CR1IZ by W3IZ from Sao Miguel  (EU-003,
         9-15 September), CU4DX by IV3VSC and  K0BJ  from  Giacosa  (EU-175,
         11-14 September) and CU7CRA by KI1U and N5ZGT from  Faial  (EU-174,
         11-14 September). QSL for all callsigns via KI1U. [TNX NG3K]
F      - Once again a team from radio clubs F5KLJ and F6KDQ will  be  active
         as  TM1MAD  from  Ile  Madame  (not  IOTA,  DIFM  AT-024)  on   3-7
         September. They will operate SSB, CW, RTTY and BPSK31  on  80,  40,
         20, 15 and 10 metres, and SSB on VHF and UHF. QSL via  F5KLJ.  [TNX

I      - Giovanni IK3JLV and Calogero, IW3ILP will be active  as  IA5/IK3JLV
         and IA5/IW3ILP from Capraia Island (EU-028) and the  lighthouse  at
         Punta del Ferraione on 1-4 October.  They  will  operate  CW  only.

J6     - Steve, WF2S and Ralph,  K1ZZI  will  be  active  holiday  style  as
         J6/WF2S and J6/K1ZZI from  St.  Lucia  (NA-108)  on  7-18  October.
         Activity will be on CW, SSB,  RTTY  plus  some  JT65  and  JT9  "on
         whatever band is open". QSLs via home calls  (OQRS  of  direct  and

JD1_oga- Tac, JA1NEJ will be active  as  JD1BOH  from  Chichijima  (AS-031),
         Ogasawara on 4-7 September, All Asian DX SSB Contest  included.  He
         will operate SSB. CW and JT65 on 80-10 metres. QSL via  home  call,

JD1_mt - Take, JG8NQJ expects to be back to the weather  station  on  Minami
         Torishima  (OC-073)  in  mid-September.  He  operates  CW  only  as
         JG8NQJ/JD1 in his spare time, and usually he remains on the  island
         for three months. QSL via JA8CJY (direct) or JG8NQJ (bureau).
KH2    - Tak, JR1EFG, will be active as KH2/KU0Q from Guam (OC-026) on 24-28
         September. He will operate CW and SSB  on  40-10  metres.  QSL  via

LX     - PE1RZU, PE2J, PG3VA and  PH1JB  will  be  active  as  LX/PE2J  from
         Greisch, Luxembourg from 26 September to 3 October.  They  plan  to
         be QRV with two statins mainly on 40, 20, 15  and  10  metres  SSB,
         plus 6m if  conditions  allow.  QSL  via  PE2J,  bureau  preferred.

OJ0    - DL3DXX, DL5LYM, SP5XVY and US5WDX will  be  active  as  OJ0DX  from
         Market Reef (EU-053) on 18-28 September. They will operate CW,  SSB
         and RTTY on 160-6 metres, and will participate in the  SAC  CW  and
         CQ WW DX RTTY contests. QSL via DL3DXX. [TNX DX World]
OZ     - Rosel, DL3KWR will be active as OZ6SYL (the Scandinavian  YL  Radio
         Amateurs'  club call)  on 6-25 September,  SAC CW Contest included.
         The  QTH will be  near Faxe, Sjaelland (EU-029).  QSL via bureau to

PJ6    - K5AC, NM1Y and WB0TEV  will  participate  in  the  CQ  WW  DX  RTTY
         Contest as PJ6A from Saba (NA-145). See  www.pj6a.com/qsls.htm  for
         QSL information. Before and after the contest,  from  22  September
         to 1 October, they will operate as  PJ6/homecall  on  80-10  metres

PY     - Look for PX70FEB to be active on SSB, CW and digital modes on  1-30
         September. This  is  the  ninth  of  a  series  of  twelve  special
         callsigns; the suffix stands for Forca  Expedicionaria  Brasileira,
         the Brazilian Expeditionary Force that fought alongside the  Allied
         powers in Italy during World War  II.  QSL  via  PS7AB  (direct  or
         bureau), LoTW and eQSL.
SM     - Fred, SM7DAY will be active again as SM7DAY/p from  Senoren  Island
         (EU-138) on 5-12 September. He operates mainly CW,  but  will  also
         be QRV on SSB and PSK. QSL via home call, direct  or  bureau  (OQRS

SV     - Max, IZ4JMA  will  be  active  holiday  style  as  SV8/IZ4JMA  from
         Elafonisos Island (EU-113) on 1-11 September. He will operate  SSB,
         CW and digital modes on 40-6 metres. QSL via home call,  direct  or

SV     - Once again Laci, HA0HW will be active as SW8WW from Thassos  Island
         (EU-174) on 6-14 September. He will operate mainly  CW,  with  some
         SSB and RTTY, on the HF bands and 6 metres. QSL via  HA0HW,  direct

UA     - Vlado, UA0LCZ and others  will  be  active  as  RI0F  from  Moneron
         Island (AS-149) on 2-10  September.  Look  for  activity  on  80-10

V4     - Al, W6HGF will be active as V4/W6HGF from St. Kitts  (NA-104)  from
         24 September to 4 October, CQ  WW  DX  RTTY  Contest  included.  As
         ususal he will emphasize the digital modes,  with  RTTY  being  his
         favourite. His son Ed, KK4PHP will operate as  V4/KK4PHP.  QSL  via

VK9C   - Nobuaki, JA0JHQ  (http://pandasan.jimdo.com/)  will  be  active  as
         JA0JHQ/VK9 from from the Cocos (Keeling) Islands (OC-003) on  19-25
         September. He will operate CW and  SSB  on  80-6  metres.  QSL  via
         JA0JHQ, bureau (preferred) or direct, and possibly LoTW.
VP5    - Adrian, KO8SCA will  operate  SSB  and  CW  as  VP5/KO8SCA  on  3-8
         September. During the All Asian DX  SSB  Contest  he  will  signing
         VP5SCA. QSL via home call (direct) and LoTW. [TNX NG3K]
W      - The Playground Amateru Radio Club,  W4ZBB    will  be  active  from
         Santa Rosa Island (NA-142) on 29-30 August  for  the  W/VE  Islands
         QSO Party (see www.usislands.org for information  on  this  event).
         They will operate CW and SSB  on  80-6  metres.  QSL  direct.  [TNX

W      - Once again Joe, K5KUA will be  active  as  K5KUA/5  from  Galveston
         Island (NA-143) on 19-21 September. He  will  operate  CW  only  on

YB     - Budi, YF1AR (www.yf1ar.com) will be active as YF1AR/0 from  Untung,
         one of the  Seribu  Islands  (OC-177),  on  29-30  August  and  5-6
         September. Plans are to operate mainly SSB on 80-10 metres QSL  via
         the OQRS on Club Log (preferred, direct link on qrz.com)  or  N2OO.

YB     - In September Din,  YB8RW  will  be  leaving  on  another  extensive
         island hopping tour. Plans are to  be  QRV  as  YB8RW/5  from  IOTA
         groups OC-075, OC-106, OC-107, OC-108, OC-109 and  OC-122,  and  as

CHESTERFIELD 2015 ---> The equipment for TX3X, the 2-10  October  DXpedition
to the Chesterfield Islands [425DXN 1257], is on the  way  to  New  Zealand,
and scheduled for delivery on the 26th. The  Advance  Team  will  travel  to
Auckland and transfer the equipment from storage to the Evohe, which is  due
to sail for  Noumea  (New  Caledonia)  on  16  September  and  then  to  the
Chesterfields on the 28th. The team expects to land on 1 October  and  begin

CLUB LOG ---> Club Log now offers a way to  review  the  OQRS  requests  you
have created: log in, click on OQRS (now in the top menu of  Club  Log  near
'Upload') and then click on the 'Outbound OQRS' tab to  reach  the  records.
"I hope this helps keep your QSLs under control and helps you  identify  any
problematic or late cards", Michael, G7VJR says.

HEARD ISLAND 2016 ---> THE VK0EK team is  now  complete  and  includes  Bill
Mitchell (AE0EE), Hans-Peter Blattler (HB9BXE), Adam  Brown  (K2ARB),  David
Lloyd (K3EL), Robert Schmieder (KK6EK), Fred Belton (KM4MXD),  Jim  Colletto
(N6TQ), Kenneth  Karr  (NG2H),  Carlos  Nasciemento  (NP4IW),  Vaydm  Ivliev
(UT6UD), Gavin Marshall (VK2BAX), Alan  Cheshire  (VK6CQ),  Arliss  Thompson
(W7XU) and Dave Farnsworth (WJ2O). The "Braveheart" will  depart  from  Cape
Town (South Africa) in early March and return to  Fremantle  (Australia)  in
the second half of April, with a nominal 21-day stay  at  Heard  Island  (16

PALMYRA 2016 ---> "One key to the success of activation of a rare entity  is
a  team  of  pilot  stations",  who  "gather  regional   feedback,  identify
propagation trends and inform the on-island  team  of  operational  issues".
The pilots for the 11-26 January 2016 DXpedition to Cooper  Island,  Palmyra
Atoll  [425DXN  1260]  will  be  AA1V    (Eastern    USA/Caribbean),  JA1WSX
(Asia/Pacific), KE1B (Chief Pilot and  Western  USA),  MM0NDX  (Europe)  and
V51B (Africa/South America). The callsign will be announced in  due  course;
QSL via Club Log's OQRS (preferred, for either direct or  bureau  cards)  or
direct to Palmyra DXpedition, P.O. Box 73, Elmwood IL 61529, USA; logs  will
be posted to LoTW 3-6 months after the conclusion of the DXpedition.  "There
is a large payment due shortly and additional funds are needed to meet  this
obligation", the team reported  on  27  August.  Donations  to  support  the
effort to activate this  rare  entity  are  still  required  and  gratefully

RI1PT ---> The RI1PT operation [425DXN 1264] has been approved by  the  IOTA
Manager. The island is known locally as Bol'shoy Chaichiy,  but  its  actual
name is Otdel'ny Kamen' and it has been added as such to IOTA group  EU-188.
RI1PT - operated by R7AA, RA1ZZ, RA3AV and RW3QNZ  -  made  13,597  QSOs  on
23-28 July; QSL via R7AA (OQRS on Club Log).

RT9K/0 ---> Departure was delayed by bad weather, but eventually the  RT9K/0
team  heading  to  Dobrzhanskogo  Island  (AS-203)    [425DXN    1268]  left
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on 25 August. They are travelling at 6  knots,  and
their current estimated day of arrival is 2 September.  Updates  are  posted

QSL KL7XK/P ---> Heinz, VA7AQ says he will handle the QSL cards for  KL7XK's
25-26 July 2015 operation from  Pleasant  Island  (NA-161).  QSL  direct  to
Heinz Georg Buhrig, 15684 102 Ave, Surrey BC V4N 2G4, Canada.

SAC ---> The 57th Scandinavian  Activity  Contest  will  be  held  on  19-20
September (CW) and 10-11 October (SSB), from 12 UTC on Saturady to  11:59:59
