3V, TUNISIA. SWL Ashraf "Ash", 3V4-002 (KF5EYY) will be active as 3V8BB

4Y/C7, AUSTRIA. The Vienna International Amateur Radio Club (VIARC)
proudly announces that the VIARC will operate stations under the newly
released callsigns of C7A and 4Y1A as a host institute. The callsign
block C7A-C7Z is allocated to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO)
and 4YA-4YZ is allocated to the International Civil Aviation Organization
(ICAO). VIARC is operating a UN amateur radio station with the callsign
4U1VIC at Vienna International Centre which hosts numerous UN organizations
and other international organizations. VIARC welcomes the new prefixes,
C7 and 4Y, which are allocated to the UN organizations. Activations of
these new callsigns will attract attention from all over the world, which
will assist promotion of these organizations, as well as a whole UN system.
The new callsigns, C7A and 4Y1A, will be activated in special occasions
related to the organizations as commemorative operations, such as World
Meteorological Day or International Civil Aviation Day.
ADDED NOTE: Just a reminder that these new callsigns (C7A and 4Y1A)
will only count for Austria for DXCC purposes. However, the QSLs cards
are very nice and can be viewed on QRZ.com or the following URLs:

from Roma, Lesotho, between April 22nd and about May 1st. He plans to
concentrate on the upper HF bands, "especially on 21-28 MHz" with a goal
of working DXers who might need 7P8 for a "new country or at least a new
band" for their DXCC award. San states, "I=92m heading to Lesotho with 4-5
other operators for a 'fun, vacation style operation', and all ops will
be using their own 7P8 callsigns. The team will have three stations set
up including amps. 60m is not allowed in Lesotho, negating one of my
goals of operating on that band." QSLs for 7P8YY go direct to K5YY. He
will not be using an OQRS or ClubLog. Also, no Bureau cards or LoTW. San
will use the propagation models to different parts of the world to hope-
fully give a =91new one=92 to the small station setups. He adds, "Perhaps n=
ot
having the ClubLog ladder access will lessen the potential of 'big guns'
covering up the small guy for the first 3-4 days. I do not know what the
other operators have in mind as goals of their individual operations. My
QRZ.com 7P8YY access will give complete details up until the time I leave
(for 7P-land) on Easter day."
