7O2A ---> This was a surprise activity by Dima, RA9USU (of 7O6T fame), who
operated from Socotra Island (AF-028), Yemen for the CQ WW DX SSB Contest.
QSL via UA3DX; logsearch and OQRS on Club Log. The operation has been

CYPRUS ---> "A large number of Cyprus stations have QSL mangers outside
Cyprus. The Cyprus Amateur Radio Society's (CARS) QSL Bureau cannot deliver
QSLs to these stations. Please ensure that the QSL Manager's callsign is
written prominently on the card. Many cards are received from bureaux with
the correct manager, but the cards still get delivered to CARS because the
manager's call is not prominent". A list of Cyprus stations that have
managers outside Cyprus can be found on www.cyhams.org/index.php: click on
CARS Services ---> QSL Bureau Service ---> Incoming QSL cards - Foreign
Amateurs & QSL Bureaux please read. [TNX 5B4AHJ]
DXCC NEWS ---> T6MH (Afghanistan, 2012 and 2013 operations) has been
approved for DXCC credit. If you've had this rejected in a prior
application, send a note to bmoore[@]arrl.org to be placed on the list for
an update to your record. Please note the submission date and/or reference
number where the rejection was noted to expedite the search for any
rejected QSOs. [TNX NC1L]
KOSOVO ---> Members of SHRAK, Kosovo's Amateur Radio Association (Z60A) and
Finland's Radio Arcala (OH8X) have a joint project to operate from Albania,

the upcoming ZA expedition", the Kosovo team will operate Z60A on 14210,
21310 and 28510 kHz SSB. QSL via OH2BH. [TNX OH2BN]
QSL 5B4AHJ & P3J ---> M0URX is the new QSL manager for 5B4AHJ and P3J

+ SILENT KEY + Guenter S. Hamacher, HP1XX (HP1XVH) passed away on 22

Panama in 1982. An amateur radio operator for 25 years, he participated in
or hosted a large number of contest operations. The last one was HP1WW by
OH0XX for the CQ WW DX CW 2012, shortly before Guenter left the island and
moved permanently to mainland Panama. He also conducted the Pacific Island
Net for twenty years, providing valuable assistance to sailing boats.
