3B9    - Juha,  OH1LEG   is  active  as  3B9/OH1LEG  from  Rodrigues  Island
         (AF-017) until 7 January.He operates holiday style using SSB,  RTTY
         and PSK31 on 160-10 metres. QSL direct to OH1LEG.
6W     - Francis F6BLP (www.f6blp.org) will be active as 6W7SK from  Senegal
         on 4-18 January. He will operate mainly CW  on  80-10  metres,  and
         hopefully also on 160m. QSL via home call, direct and bureau,  LoTW
         and eQSL.
8Q     - Max, HB9TUZ will be active as  8Q7MS  from  the  Maldives  (AS-013)
         from 26 December to  3  January.  He  will  operate  SSB  on  80-10

C6     - Rick, K6VVA will be  active  as  C6AVA  from  North  Bimini  Island
         (NA-048) on 11-14 January. He will operate mainly CW with some  SSB
         on 40, 30, 20, 17 and 15 metres. He may also be QRV in the NAQP  CW

FO     - Hiro, JI1JKW will be active as  FO/JI1JKW  from  Huahine  (OC-067),

HS     - Eddy, ON4AFU will be active as HS0ZJF/8  from  Koh  Samui  (AS-101)
         from 21 January to 18 February and  as  HS0ZJF/9  from  Koh  Butang
         (AS-126) from 20 February to 2 March.  He will operate CW  only  on
         40-10 metres with 100 watts and  wire  antennas.  QSL  via  ON4AFU,

JA     - Take, JI3DST reports he will be active as  JS6RRR,  JI3DST/JS6  and
         JA3YEC/JS6 from Miyako  Island  (AS-079)  from  27  December  to  7
         January. He plans to operate SSB, CW, FM and  maybe  RTTY/PSK31  on
         160-6 metres. QSL via bureau.
LU     - The LU6W team (Cezar VE3LYC,  Johan  PA3EXX,  Alex  LU5WW  and  Luc
         LU1FAM) will meet in Puerto Madryn on 31 December. They hope to  be
         operating from Isla Escondida (SA-096) between  2  and  6  January.
         "This expedition includes  some  very  difficult  logistics",  they
         say, and "consequently, the above dates  are  approximate  and  can
         change depending on the weather conditions. Moreover, there  is  no

OH     - Santa Claus is going to have his final radio sessions from the  Far
         North. Look for Santa Radio (OF9X) around  14225  kHz  (Europe  and
         North  America)  and  21295  kHz  (Asia  and  Europe)  this  coming
         weekend, while OH9SCL (Santa Claus Land) will stay  on  for  a  few
         more days after Christmas from  the  village  of  Lankojarvi,  with
         Kimmo, OH9MDV at the controls. Santa's office is busy  sending  out
         150 operating awards often  addressed  to  the  children  of  radio
         families (see www.qrz.com/db/OF9X for further information).
PY0F   - Leo,  PP1CZ  will  be  active  holiday  style  as  PY0F/PP1CZ  from
         Fernando  de  Noronha  (SA-003)  on  15-21  January.  He  plans  to
         concentrate on 160 and 80 metres CW, with RTTY, CW and some SSB  on

T8     - Ryosei, JH0IXE will be active as T8CW from  Koror  (OC-009),  Palau
         from 24 December to 6 January. He will operate mainly  RTTY,  PSK31
         and JT65A. QSL via JA0FOX, direct or bureau.
V3     - Markus, DJ4EL will be active as V31ME from Abergris  Caye  (NA-073)
         between 3 and 17 January, with a side trip to  Long  Caye  (NA-123)
         on 5-12 January. He will operate SSB on  10,  12,  15,  17  and  20
         metres. QSL via home call, direct or bureau.
VE     - To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen  Elizabeth  II,  Canadian
         amateurs may use the following prefixes on 29 and 30  December:  CF
         for VA, CG for VE, CH for VO and CI for VY.
VK     - Special event callsign VI6AHR30 will be active on  most  bands  and
         modes  during  the  month  of  January  to  celebrate   the    30th
         anniversary of the Hills Amateur Radio  Group.  A  special  weekend
         event will be held on 26-27  January.  QSL  via  VK6IR,  direct  or
         bureau (OQRS preferred, instructions at www.vk6ir.com).
VP8_ant- Mike, VP8CMH/GM0HCQ has been given permission to operate as  VP8ROT
         from Rothera Base on Adelaide Island  (AN-001),  Antarctica  whilst
         his ship, the RRS James Clark Ross, is there. Look for  him  to  be
         QRV on 20, 30 or 40 metres mainly CW on 22-24  December."It  is  my
         intention to operate for about two hours each evening,  from  00.15
         UTC (this due to other communication commitments  at  the  base  up

VP9    - Masa, K1GI will be active as K1GI/VP9 from  Bermuda  (NA-005)  from
         29 December to 2 January. He plans to operate CW, SSB  and  digital

W      - Once  again  Joe, K5KUA  will be  active as  K5KUA/5 from Galveston
         Island (NA-143) on 18-21 January. He usually operates  CW  only  on

XE     - Markus, DJ4EL will be active as XE1/DJ4EL from  the  Mexican  State
         of Tlaxcala from 20 December to 2 January. He will operate  SSB  on

XV     - Heli, DD0VR (XV0VR) and Bigi, DE3BWR have extended  their  stay  on

DXCC ---> The deadline for the 2012 DXCC Annual and Honor Roll  listings  is
rapidly approaching. In order to appear in these listings,  your  submission
must be postmarked by 31 December 2012.  The  current  publication  schedule
for  these  lists  can  be  found  on    the    ARRL's    Awards  Blog  page
(http://www.arrl.org/awards-blog).  At  present,  there  are  340    current
Entities on the ARRL DXCC List;  Honor  Roll  entry  level  is  331  current
Entities.

IOTA ---> The 2012 IOTA Contest data has  now  been  uploaded  to  the  IOTA
database. This means that  credit  can  be  obtained  for  IOTA  QSOs  where
participants submit matching contact details. Cards for these QSOs  are  not
required.

QSL 7O6T ---> The QSLling process was stopped on 18 December,  in  order  to
avoid the known problems that affect  the  postal  service  over  Christmas.
Shipping will be resumed after 8 January, with plans to  clear  all  of  the
direct requests (OQRS and traditional) by the  end  of  that  month.  Bureau
cards will follow starting in February. The entire log was uploaded to  LoTW
in August.

TX5K ---> During the weekend of 10 December, the  European  members  of  the
team gathered in Goch, Germany,  at  the  super  contest  station  DR1A,  to
assemble and pack most of the equipment for the two HF  operating  sites  on
Clipperton. The gear includes ten full HF stations; the 6m station  will  be
shipped from the U.S. The total team is now 25 persons. TX5K is expected  to
be QRV from 28 March to 10 March.  Detailed  information  can  be  found  at
