5W, SAMOA (Update). Ralph, H44RK, will be active as 5W0RK from Apia
between December 8th and March 3rd (2013) from Samoa. Activity will
be on 20-10 meters using SSB and the Digital modes. QSL via NR6M.

6Y, JAMAICA. Lester, W8YCM, is currently on his annual trip to Negril,
Jamaica (NA-097), and will be active as 6Y5/W8YCM until the new year.
Activity has been on 17-10 meters using SSB. QSL via his home callsign.

7P, LESOTHO. Chris, ZS6RI (ex-9J2RI, ZD9IR, 5H9IR, EL8RI), will be active
as 7P8RI from Lesotho beginning December 17th for 20 weeks - with a two
week on and two week off rotation (similar to his 9J2RI activities).
Activity will be on all HF bands using CW, SSB and the Digital modes.
QSL via details on QRZ.com. For updates, visit his Blog page at:
                       http://zs6ri.blogspot.co.uk

9M6, EAST MALAYSIA. Steve, 9M6DXX, informs OPDX and its readers: "Hi all,
Disappointed with the current poor conditions and high noise level at my
home QTH, I have booked two night's accommodation at a seaside hotel
where I am able to put up vertical antennas by the sea. I plan to be
active (SSB only) as 9M6DXX (IOTA OC-088) on 8 and 9 December, using
400 watts to an 80m quarter-wave inverted-L with 50 ft vertical section
and feedpoint just inches above the sea at high tide. On 10m I will use
a vertical dipole, again right on the ocean, and will participate part-time
in the ARRL 10m Contest (Single-Op, HP, SSB). On the other bands I will
use a Butternut HF6V-X with 12/17m add-on kit, elevated about 15 feet
above the sea. I will be checking 80m SSB around the greyline for Brazil,
northern South America, the Caribbean and eastern USA and Canada around
1000-1050 UTC and 2130-2215 UTC on both days. I will also look for northern
and western Europe on 80m SSB between 1500 and 1800 UTC. If propagation
is no good on 80m I will try 40m instead. QSL 9M6DXX via M0URX, direct
or Bureau. You may also use M0URX's OQRS service <www.m0urx.com/oqrs>,
but since I am collecting cards for 5BDXCC, I would prefer it if you sent
your own QSL card to M0URX either direct or via the RSGB Bureau. The logs
will be uploaded to LoTW within a few days of the operation.
73, Steve, 9M6DXX"

ANTARCTICA NEWS (By Gianni, I1HYW).................
  * Bharati Station (WAP IND-04) is now QRT. After a bit of pain (at the
beginning of the season, propagation wasn't good), on the last 20 days
of activity, Bhagwati, VU3BPZ/P, had made over 400 QSOs bringing his
total to nearly 1500, even if with several dupes. Yesterday (Nov. 26th)
his "Inverted V" antenna (RFI HFX400-ST, donated by Oleg Sakharov,
ZS1ANF/RI1ANF) has been taken down and packed with his RTX, ready to
be moved on board of "P/S Ivan Papanin", from where Bhagwati thinks
he will be active between/around December 5-6th, as VU3BPZ/MM.
The daily sked which was set up (on 14180 & 14243 kHz +/- 2 kHz
between 1630-1745z) did allow several EU stations, as well as NA,
VK/ZL, JA and VU stations, to work this brand new "Indian Bharati
    Station" (WAP IND-04), located at Larsemaan Hills 69 =B0S, 76=B0 E in
Antarctica. Thanks to those who put spots on the Packet Cluster and
made contacts with Bhagwati, encouraging him to be on even if it cut
hours of sleep to his rest time. There won't be any Ham activities
from Bharati Base for the next couple of years, so those who did
take advantage from this 2012 activation were lucky. On the way
home, a stop is planned at the Maitri Base (WAP IND-03) where it
will be possible for Bhagwati to do a short operation (2-3 days)
from there as well. QSLs for VU3BPZ/P have just arrived from the
printer, and the QSL Manager I1HYW, is starting immediately to answer
the cards received directly. Information on the next activity by
VU3BPZ will be on WAP website (www.waponline.it) in due course. =

  * Novo Runway-Antarctica (WAP MNB-06). Alex, RI1ANR, is currently active
from Novo Runway (located few miles away the Novolazarevskaya Station
WAP RUS-09). Since he was able to get little more free time, Alex
did some checking on his antenna and other radio equipment and all is
working fine now. During the evening of Nov. 26th, he made 60 QSOs.
This is a very busy time for him now as there are a lot of flights
bringing personnel to the base for the turn-over. Alex will be there
until March 2013. QSL for RI1ANR goes via RK1PWA.

C6, BAHAMAS. Gil, N2GG, will be active as C6AGG from Grand Bahama Island
(NA-001) between now and December 13th. Activity will be holiday style
on 80-10 meters using mostly SSB with some CW. QSL via N2GG.

C6, BAHAMAS. Drew, N2RFA, will once again be active as C6ABB from Nassau,
Providence Island (NA-001, WLOTA 1115) between February 10-21st (2013).
Activity will be on 80/40/20/17 meters. He plans to operate on some of
the Digital modes (PSK31, RTTY and possibly SSTV). QSL via his home
callsign direct or LoTW and also eQSL.

IOTA NEWS..............
EU-009. Russell, G5XW, will once again be active as GM5XW from the
mainland Orkney Islands (IOSA OR01, SCOTIA OI14, WLOTA 1652)
between December 7-11th. QSL via G5XW, direct only (QRZ.com).

SA-049. Members of the Ushuaia Radio Club are planning a DXpedition to
Redonda Island sometime in February 2013. Callsign is expected
to be LU8XW/X. More details will be forthcoming.
