CY0/VE1AWW ---> Al, CY0/VE1AWW has been QRT from Sable Island since 28 May.
"A migratory bird (and protected species) was found near my towers with
injuries suggesting a collision with one of the towers", he says. "I am
required to take down the towers until an investigation and policy can be
developed for tern season (April-August)".

ST PAUL ISLAND 2012 ---> In their latest press release (25 May), the CY9M
team reported that on 25 July they "will be making their way to Sydney,
Nova Scotia, then onwards to the northernmost tip of Cape Breton, ready to
depart for St Paul island on July 26th". A few of the team plan to be QRV
as VE1/callsign from Cape Breton Island (NA-010) prior to CY9M. There are
few landing spots on St Paul, and "actual station location will be
determined where we land. From planning discussions, we know each proposed
location has positives and negatives to certain regions around the globe -
therefore this is very much an 'on the day' set-up at any given landing
spot. Now the shipping process begins". Further information, including log
search, OQRS and details on how contribute, can be found at www.cy9m.com

XR0ZA ---> A team of operators from Radio Club de Valparaiso went to
Robinson Crusoe Island (Juan Fernandez) to set up a radio and conduct an
earthquake and tsunami drill. In their spare time they were QRV as XR0ZA.
