Hi Peter and the QRM Net,

I once sat in the cockpit of a P-51D Mustang so I know how to fire the
guns, if there were working. (;->) I vaguely remember the 12 O'Clock High
TV series but I remember Black Sheep Squadron better for that authentic
radio gear that was shown rather frequently. I've operated some of that
vintage AM gear and I'm impressed! That's the height of technology for
it's day, amazing what it can do. Now if only they put an EV664 and AM
broadcast digital processor on the BC610 like the one I was so happy
with... but Bob Orban wasn't invented yet.

Yeah, it would be nice hearing from a genuine railway telegrapher,
they're even more rare than the few remaining commercial ops. There are
loads of railfans out there and CW ops, both would find the topic
interesting. Speaking of commercial, one of the South Jersey clubs (foggy
head again) got their hands on the defunct WSC West Creek coastal
maritime station and did wonders with it. If I remember right the call is
now W2WSC and they were rather busy last SKN and naturally Bob N2OO my
"other Bob" figured promenently. They made my dream come true, I had
plans for the 300' LW tower and they did a nice job on it. Oh, Bob Wick
(another forgotten call) found a better location for his Christian
community FM station, now he has a bit more room in his basement. Uh, not
exactly a tank this time, he has a whole salt marsh loaded with
mosquitoes to play with.

Eh, that was Andy down there on the beach, not a terrorist. That BOOM was
only his shopping trolley exploding, must have overheated in the sun. I
guess he'll have to find another old Cushcraft CB antenna to play with,
the old one looks just a bit bent and the tuner is toast. Andy, next time
you visit New Jersey please remember the towel goes on the sand and the
baseball cap with the sailboat on it goes on the head. The trouble with
F-16s is you never know they're coming until it's too late and the NJAING
has another name, The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight. Don Knotts and
Tim Conway no longer fly but their replacements are worse so maybe you
should just stay home and stay safe.

Uh, have as happy an Easter as you can manage since the rabbit suffered a
fatal accident and Bob's kangaroo is too busy taking driving lessons to
participate. I would have suggested a temp position for frogs but then
realized although they hop pretty well they can only carry one egg each
and I don't have enough until breeding season. Oh well, frog eggs are too
gooey and don't take dye very well. We'll just have to muddle through
this year and leave the packet lurkers scratching their pointy little
heads wondering what I'm on about (as usual).
