Hello Everyone interested, and now we have passed more then "5" users,
but then who's keeping count, and I doubt as Paula posts, we are
all opposed to the Internet. That is something else, and Amateur Radio
is suppose to be our hobby... ??? BUT never mind, onto G0ANS's
comment on BBSes getting notifications to withdraw some postings.

Being a Sysop for a Landline BBS, and original with a Network, I
would agree, as there were daily notes sent to delete some postings
as well bar some users, for abuse of the network.

Only got one request to delete something, and bar one user local to
our BBS here at the lake.

We co-operated with a few Networks that were landline, as well
the nearest Amateur Radio Packet BBS, carrying some of their files
and also co-operated with a local Repeater station, allowing a gateway.

When the Internet arrived, this all ended. 30 landline BBS disappeared
from my area. The Repeater disappeared...reasons unknown and the
Packet BBS station also went...because all the users on there were
on the Internet. I found Internet based Networks "ok" and even
faster, and more folks, and even more deletions of postings, as well
banding or barring users trying to access me for the Network that
I dropped the Internet connect and went only Landline.

KA9LCF might have been right , when he said people seem to hide
behind their keyboards, and insult with no clue about the other
or their qualifications. Saw that in simple messages going
viral. Such is the Internet.

I see Ian G0TEZ's posting today, and mention of FACEBOOK, and well
he knows what happened to us, and why I no longer use FACEBOOK or
other questionable programs on the Internet. I have even gone
back to mailing letters. Emails "ok" but not as many as before
and so if the Internet kills itself .... let it be.

Like all good things... regulation has to come along. Snowmobililing
is an example, thus sooner or later INTERNET will be regulated and
certain sites and their prediator users will be at an end.

Like Ian, I too used to like digi-linking to where ever from here...
but not via Internet. The reason for the hobby again comes in...
so if on the hobby ...I like the idea of a radio and antenna ...etc,
not some silly screen and a cyberband and paying per month to use
it.

Hey! Gettting late...must be 2013 somewhere...so to all a HNY 2013 !

73 Maria and Pete VE3WBZ
