I was giving Twitter as an option of something which is not as good as packet.
I mentioned Julian Assange because the mainstream news media are keeping very
quiet about hime and that always bothers me.

It is an accquired taste. I am also a contributer to something else, it passes
the time.

I definitely would not recommend Facebook, which, like Twitter attrects lots
of 'friends' you don't really want to know. Facebook, passes on your details
to other groups and, suddenly, you find that people know far more about you
than you want them to know. I first discovered this a long time ago with
Friends Reunited, which, at the time, put old school and university friends in
touch with one another. In it's latest incarnation it is Genes Reunited, which
will suck up all sorts of information about you. In the early days, I read a
message from a former pupil at my school which said. "I don't want to join
your group,
all you do is brag about how well you have done since you left school and I
don't want the world to know my business."

I hadn't paid the fee and joined so I just, quietly left them alone. The
former schoolmate had it spot on.

Yes. My mate is a nerd and proud of it! he is very good at repairing PCs and
mobile 'phones but wouldn't know what you were talking about if you asked
about Ohm's Law. The suck it and see school of engineering.
