Hi any interested parties ? EI is back or at least is sort of back ?

After clossing this TIPBBS when numbers dropped to all time low and support
was simply not of interest to anyone in these parts, I got a couple of Emails
Yes the DRED Internet I admit but it apears packet still has some interest.

Now I was running TIPBBS from my own home and at my own expense and as a sort
of added interest I was also looking after the MRCBBS which is the Scout
centre at Mount Melleray in Waterford, they had at first agreed there was
little point in running a system with no users but there was one small factor
to be considered and that was COST ?

MRC is part of a group that has some funding which in effect makes the
running cost of a BBS almost Zero in terms of power used, just the cost of
upkeep for equipment which with most being donated for free is also very
small, so after some debate it was decided to re-activate MRCBBS and set it
up as our main BBS with my system activated randomly to remotely sysop if
required and in event of any seriouse problem then I could pop to the sight
and initiate repairs or what ever may be required.

With the IRTS News Bulletins still being sent to me and requiring editing to
plain text format for the Packet system, things are more or less working as
before with MRC now being the main active 24/7 BBS and myself doing ONLY as
much as required resulting in my electricity bill reducing considerably and
that results in everyone now being happy.

A glance through the Bulletins shows things to have not changed to much and
although I have no actual figures it looks like the steadfast stick in the
Mud Few are keeping a system of sorts from total colapse, well done to you
all, must now have a general look around for anything of interest.

Any and all replies will get an answer eventualy all be possibly a little
slow as I generaly only fire up the system once or twice a week to check for
any mail and make sure all is in order, MRC is active 24/7 so any interested
parties can try a connect or can send mail.

De John EI3DIB -- Part time TIPBBS and remote MRCBBS Sysop.
