I seem to recall a rant by Mr APRS himself WB4APR that no one uses
APRS for anything useful and that he's fed up with just seeing boring
beacons with QTH details.

I remember seeing this on the southgatearc.org website about 2 years
ago, alas an online search to the article is not proving fruitful.

I'm in agreeance with both David and Bob on this issue.

APRS is like the rest of packet - flogging a dead horse springs to mind.
