I know I'd buy one. That would be my ideal iGate. At the moment I was
thinking about a Soekris embedded system or WRT54G with a TNC-X. That
reminds me, does the OpenTracker+ support decode with the KISS firmware?

3a. Alinco DR-135 questions
    Posted by: "gregwilliams@knology.net" gregwilliams@knology.net hockeyham

Hello to the group. First time posting.

I've been off of APRS since last year, decided to get back into it and just recently purchased an Alinco DR-135 off of eBay with built-in TNC. Even back then I was pretty much a novice with regards to TNCs.

Does anyone have experience with this radio to offer some help?

I was trying it out with UIView and in the terminal it sees the over-the-air stations on the terminal, but does not display them on the map. Only iGated stations are making it onto my display. I'm thinking my initial commands to the TNC are not properly set.

Also, is there another APRS program besides UIView that would work better with the DR-135?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Are you using the standard Alinco EJ-41U TNC? It comes with the DR-135TP.

Yes I believe that is correct.

Radio came without box/manual. It is labeled on the radio as a DR-135 but the TNC is built in.

Just wanted to check, because I sell another TNC board for the DR-135T
that I designed. It'd say Argent Data Systems in the login banner if
you've got one of mine.
