Hi all,
I have rather lost touch with APRS and have recently set up a weather station
and have some software for it supposedly able to upload its data to
cwop.aprs.net.
I have enabled it set as default to use cwop.aprs.net port 14580. There is not
much in the way of help in the software, on using APRS, just the enable box
and a box to enter ID - I've assumed my callsign M1BYT.
I have not managed to find my callsign on any APRS sites, but perhaps I'm not
looking in the right places/ using the right way to search - that is assuming
the data is even getting out...
I have an hardware fire wall - do I need to open port 14580?
Do I need to register with cwop.aprs.net, I can only see a means on the site
for none amateurs to register?
Should I perhaps be sending the data to another site?
