Hi all,

I have had a board for about 12 months now but have never got it operational. I have now misplaced the CD-ROM with the Instruction Manual and Setup Software on it.

Anyone able to help out with this one??

If anyone is using one of these also I would love to hear from you!

Cheers / 73's, Duncan - VK6GHZ

Call me crazy (and some have) but that looks like a re-designed TinyTrak II on a single sided PCB. The four LEDs kind of gave me that impression. For kicks, go download the TinyTrak II config software and try to read it.

Depending on how they configured the serial port on the tracker, you may or may not have to use a null modem adapter to talk to it.

Thanks for your prompt response Jason. Did think of this but didn't want to "fry" it by doing something wrong!

If anyone has the software or manual available I would love to hear from you...

Hi Duncan

Unfortunately that's exactly what it is. He has been selling these on eBay
and distributing a hacked version of my DOS configuration program for years.
I reported it to eBay several times to no avail.

My advice: Please support Byon, the one who designed the TinyTrak devices
in the first place.

2. WAPRS Question

I am on vacation and left my cheat sheat at home. I run WAPRS now that I
got a laptop that can handle everything. The problem is I do not remember
how to set (what to type in) the different boxes that need to be filled in. I run
the free progam; atleast until I get home to buy the registry code; so I do not
have to keep typing everything in. Can some one tell me what I need to type
in the boxes and what boxes to check to set up everything. Thank you. I will
try and check my email later tonight. Rod kc7vqr

3a. APRS tracking etiquette question
    Posted by: "k7rbw" flyboy_pa34(AT)yahoo.com k7rbw
Date: Wed Sep 16, 2009 9:26 pm ((PDT))

I was wondering if I wanted to track something more frequently than once every minute or two, would be OK to have the tracker operate on some unused freq that's not 144.390? I plan to also use my own receiver and iGate to put the resulting packets on the APRS-IS server.

I'd like to get higher precision tracking but still use the APRS web-based tools for mapping, logging, etc.I also want to be a good citizen and not tie up a shared frequency.

I just wanted to know (before hand) if this type of operation would have other, undesirable side-effects.

Thanks!
