Hi,

Originally I used an old Garmin GPS III+, then moved to a 60Csx and finally onto what I use now, the GPSMap 276c.

with the 276, as with the other aforementioned units, I get NMEA in/out as well as the ability to tune XM Radio and XM Weather (from WxWorx) via the external GXM-30 antenna.

The cost of the 276 was not inexpensive, but it does ALMOST everything I want. I wish it would represent APRS stations with the correct icons on the map. It would be nice to have tactical mode, but for me it isn't a necessity. The AvMap G5 does these last two, but it is $600. That is the same price as I paid for my 276, but the ability to do away with another unit in my car (the XM radio) was a big plus.

I don't think the 276 is made any more, but you can still find them and it came with the GXM-30.

One other thing I forgot to mention.... the Nuvi 350 is the only Garmin with the Fleet interface that can show an APRS station's progress across the map. It does require a special cable, one made by Argent. Here is the link:

https://www.argentdata.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=28&products_id=114

I think the 350's screen is quite small though. Also, you can't do APRS messaging through when connecting to the Kenwood TND-710A via the Argent cable. When using the Nuvi, the Nuvi 350 with a Tiny Tracker, the messaging is available via a soft keyboard on the 350 screen. This is dues to the fact that the Kenwood 710 can't accept mesaging data except through its own control head.

Almost. The FMI isn't supported by TinyTracks (that I know of), but by
Open Trackers (OT2m and/or T2-135).

Lynn (D) - KJ4ERJ - TinyTrak4 IGate/Digi as -2/-7 - T2-135 w/Nuvi350
mobile as -9

Just Tracker2 variants - OT2m, T2-135, and T2-301 - not the OpenTracker
1 or OpenTracker+.
