Ho yes.... probably easier to solve that way. I got this problem
yesterday when editing my doppler file. The problem is your doppler
file.... Check if you did not change the ACSII format of the file. Be
sure to use colon , and not coma . to seperate each parameter..... an
example of a line in my doppler file:

AO-51,435300,145920,FM,FM,NOR,0,0,VOICE

No coma at all when editing, always colon to separate parameter. Be
sure to save in ASCII format. Other mode sometime add unusual control
that are not needed and cause the problem.

Try this and keep us informed !!

And don't forget to start SatPC32 after editing the doppler file.

I agree, the ITAR rules are outrageous and have done more harm than good to
the U.S.. I received the following from a "Satellite Today" newsletter. It
doesn't specifically talk about ITAR but indicates there may be a glimmer of
hope when dealing with launches through ISRO...Howie AB2S
----------------------------------
ISRO Hails U.S., India Technology Safeguards Agreement
July 30, 2009 | Satellite Today | Staff Writer
[Satellite Today 07-30-09] India signed a technology safeguards agreement with
the United States on July 20 to facilitate the launch of non-commercial U.S.
satellites on Indian launch vehicles, the Indian Space Research Organisation
(ISRO) announced July 28.
The agreement also includes allowing satellites with U.S. components,
previously prohibited on Indian spacecraft, to be launched on Indian rockets.
ISRO estimates the total global market for non-commercial launches at
about 40 satellites a year. India's contribution to that number has been
minor. ISRO said it hopes the TSA agreement will enable India to claim a
larger stake in the market.
Despite the agreement, India is still prohibited from launching heavy
commercial U.S. satellites or components

I received my QSL card from the K5E event in the mail today... and I realized
that some Thanks are in order.

I have never put together an event but from my limited experience in
activating grids - it's a lot of work, but it's also a lot of fun.? Special
thanks to Tim Lilley, N3TL for organizing this event. Also thanks to the other
operators who provided additional coverage - Glenn Miller, AA5PK/K5E,? John
Papay, K8YSE/K5E and Anderson Tillman, WA4NVM/K5E. ?

And thanks to Glade Schroeter, WA3MVQ, and GGGraphicsstore.com for the cards.

I had a blast!

Can't wait for the next event.

I have been off the satellites and the amsat reflector for a little over a
year, but put up a dualband yagi yesterday and have already been having a
blast getting back on the sats. I am sorry if this question has been covered
recently on the reflector.

I had a nice QSO today on FO29. I seem to remember that as of last year, FO29
had been declared dead? Am I imagining things, or did it recently come back
to life? If so, how long has it been operating again?
Glad to see it is back, it has always been one of my favorite satellites.

I just want to take a moment to thank a number of folks that have
been adding much enjoyment to my satellite operations lately.

Yesterday I found an envelope in my mailbox with a bunch of QSLs
from Jim (ND9M) confirming QSOs in 13 different grid squares with 6
of them "new ones" for me along the East coast from Delaware to
Florida. I recently logged 5 new squares with contacts with Patrick
(WD9EWK) in AZ and UT. A few weeks ago I received some QSLs from
Doug (KD8CAO) providing me some new contacts into upper MI. In
addition there has been Gail (KB0RZD) adding to my collection in the
midwest with many new grids, and John (K8YSE) with his trip to DE
helping those that needed DE for WAS or just for an additional grid
worked. Rob (KD4ZGW) is always "popping up" somewhere in the US and
always willing to provide a contact to anyone making the trip. Last
year Allen (N5AFV) provided me with some great contacts to some very
wet grid squares while operating /MM from a cruise ship. There have
been others which I have missed, but none the less their efforts are
appreciated.

These guys armed with their laptops, GPS units, handheld antennas,
radios, and maps take off into remote country and areas to provide us
with the enjoyment of working a new grid. Then when they return they
have to face a pile of QSL requests from folks like me wanting to
confirm our new contacts. They spend a lot of time and money with
nothing in return except the thanks from those of us that have
benefited from their efforts.

There have been other posts recently publicly thanking these guys but
I just wanted to chime in and add my thanks for some great contacts
with some great guys!

I just took a break from writing this note to go work AO-27. I
didn't expect much because of the short pass and the fact that it was
a low pass to the East of me, however, much to my surprise and good
fortune I made a contact with Dan (KB1RVT) working from FN54! Thanks
Dan, you made my day!

Guys, I just want to add my sincere thanks and appreciation to your
efforts and desire to help enhance the amateur radio hobby for a
great many of us that enjoy working the "birds"!

I hope someday the conditions will allow me to pack up a radio and
trek off into some area where I also can provide some contacts in a
new area and provide some QSLs for others. However, in the meantime,
thanks to those of you that are currently spending time to better
the hobby for all of us!

Thanks!

73,
Dave - K4DLG

ISS system is keying up every 3 minutes as expected but no data transmitted,
silent carrier only. Carrier remains keyed up for 30 seconds then drops.

Signal is very strong suggesting a high power output is selected.

For MUCH less than the price of an IC-7800...

"Planet Earth has entered the age of the Personal Satellite with the
introduction of Interorbital?s TubeSat Personal Satellite (PS) Kit.
The new IOS TubeSat PS Kit is the low-cost alternative to the CubeSat.
It has three-quarters of the mass (0.75-kg) and volume of a CubeSat,
but still offers plenty of room for most experiments or functions."

"And, best of all, the price of the TubeSat kit actually includes the
price of a launch into Low-Earth-Orbit on an IOS NEPTUNE 30 launch
vehicle. Since the TubeSats are placed into self-decaying orbits 310
kilometers (192 miles) above the Earth?s surface, they do not
contribute to any long-term build-up of orbital debris. After a few
weeks of operation, they will safely re-enter the atmosphere and burn-
up. TubeSats are designed to be orbit-friendly. Launches are expected
to begin in the fourth quarter of 2010."
"Total Price of the TubeSat Kit including a Launch to Orbit is $8,000!"

Several years ago I purchased some of the little plastic element insulator
buttons and metal washer finger clamps used to secure the elements in my
homebrew VHF and UHF yagi antennas from a company called C3i. They made and
sold antennas and all the parts to make your own or repair an antenna.
I can't seem to find them anymore on the web nor can I find a source for the
parts.
Any one with a source or know how to contact them?

Thanks in advance.

The blurb says the transceiver is in the 902-928MHz or 2.4-2.4835.GHz bands
to a dipole antenna.

Hi Ivan,

On the first orbit over Copenhagen we managed to hear a number of packets,
but none could be decoded directly. After turning off the error check I
managed to dig out this single packet:

UI   POLLUX-1 -> CQ P/F:0 PID: F0
SYST 1089 0 0 33 0 0006 0760 0021 0740 0011 0690 01ad 0a20 000a 0768 ffff
ffff 0158 08d0 0fc0 003X

The packet appears to be a bit short, but I hope you can use the first part
for something.

It was recorded at approx 17:42 UTC on an elevation of ~4 degrees (that pass
didn't go any higher) using an 8 element x-mounted circular antenna with
preamp, a Icom-970 radio and a GnuRADIO packet modem (homegrown).
I'll try to dig out more packets from the recordings and will be looking
forward to the FX.25 description so we can decode even more of the packets.

Regards Scott, oz2aba / oz7sat

Anyone who hears any of the satellites, let me know and send me any
telemetry.

The University of Texas at Austin deployed BEVO1 in space on July 30, 2009
at 7:27 AM CDT via the STS-127 Space Shuttle Picosatellite Launcher (SSPL).

We appreciate anyone who can help us tracking BEVO1!

BEVO1 Downlink Information:

Beacon Mode
Downlink Freq: 437.325 MHz
Modulation: FM, 200mW, Morse Code, ~20 WPM

Data Mode
Downlink Freq: 437.325 MHz
Modulation:
GMSK, 1W, 9600 baud, AX.25 (default)
FM, 1W, Bell 202, AX.25
TLE's:

BEVO1 is a 12.5 cm cube and 3 kg in mass. The purpose of the mission is to
collect data from NASA's DRAGON GPS receiver.

BEVO1 has two modes, data and beacon. The data mode is on over most parts of
the United States, and the rest of the time, the satellite is in beacon
mode. Also, anyone tracking BEVO1 can record what they hear at
http://paradigm.ae.utexas.edu/opsThe University of Texas also has additional
information at: http://www.utexas.edu/news/2009/06/09/picosatellite/

NASA describes DRAGONSat as an anticipated eight-year program with a launch
of the satellites approximately every two years. The first three missions
will test individual components and subsystems while the final mission will
culminate with the successful docking of two satellites. Refer to
http://tinyurl.com/m2blyc for additional mission information.

The University of Texas at Austin has developed BEVO1 and Texas
A&M University has developed AggieSat-2 for this mission. Both satellites
will perform the initial data acquition testing of the DRAGONSat program.

It had some problems, but the ground controllers were able to get it working
again.
IIRC, it was something to do with the batteries, and being eclipsed.

I have been off the satellites and the amsat reflector for a little over a
year, but put up a dualband yagi yesterday and have already been having a
blast getting back on the sats.? I am sorry if this question has been covered
recently on the reflector.

I had a nice QSO today on FO29. I seem to remember that as of last year, FO29
had been declared dead?? Am I imagining things, or did it recently come back
to life?? If so, how long has it been operating again?
Glad to see it is back, it has always been one of my favorite satellites.

Space-Track doesn't appear to have seen BEVO.
Was it physically seperate from Dragonsat or on the same spaceframe?
