Hey Bob,

Since the Grand Old Girl went back to "toggling" between modes, it has seemed
to me the switch has been occurring faiyl consistently between 0400 UTC and
0600 UTC - but I do see the discrepancies you alliuded to, which suggest more
inconsistencies lately. I'm going to continue to expect the change to occur in
the window mentioned above until the log shows me more evidence that she has
become really erratic.

Tim - N3TL

Hello everyone,

I am building an interface for a 736r doppler control and I will be needing

a USB-to-Serial adapter.

Looking on ebay I see many choices and prices.

Have any of you bought any of these adapters??

Any suggestions appreciated.

73,

Norman.

Anything with FTDI chips are OK.
Whatever you buy, be sure that you can get the device driver for it.
Not all device drivers are approved and will run with Windows Vista.

Hi,

I used OBJ E for the last pass with good results.
But I think they are too close together at the moment to say what is what.

Hi Mike and the group,

Due to being very busy on this end, I've yet to try copying the birds to
test the keps, so I really can't deduce to which is which. Your correct,
they are still much too close to accurately name.

Hi,

I used OBJ E for the last pass with good results.
But I think they are too close together at the moment to say what is what.

Nigel,

Has anybody determined which "Objects" are Pollux and Castor? From looking
at the keps, my assumption would be objects D and E.

I don't know the order but I did publish a guess yesterday. That guess now
doesn't appear correct.

If we project these keps forward a few days, the order of the satellites is
clearly
D, Dragonsat, C, G, E, F. (D comes over first)

If we assume that the highest mass object will stay up longest, then Castor is
object F, Pollux object E. Objects G and
C are the cans that held the satellites at ejection time and object D is the
seperator disk. (see pic here:

http://mt-milcom.blogspot.com/2009/07/navys-ande-2-launched-aboard-
endeavour.html )
Dragonsat, with a mass of only 5KG fits in well with this assumption.

However, if we assume that drag is predominantly dependent on physical
size/surface area, then the two end cans will
fall fastest and Dragonsat now doesn't fit my model.

Any corrections to my assumption are welcomed.

When it comes to programming amateur HTs and such, there are many USB-
to-Serial adapters that just didn't want to communicate. But the unit
made by Belkin works great. And RT Systems carries a model which
performs well.
