FYI...
This just appeared on the MoonNet list and I thought that if any of you
have decent setups on 1296 you might like to try and hear something
coming back off Oscar 1 :)
I'm certainly going to try!

Gentlemen
In order to supplement the EoA activity on the following days there
will be a 'Net - check in'
fun event conducted at the times indicated below. This week Friday
Saturday and Sunday.
The main mode will be SSB but anybody on CW is also encouraged to join.
There will be many very loud stations (big goo) which should be
readable on modest antennae.
The frequency chosen is 1296.025 .. your transmit frequency
I (VK3UM) will run the OC > EU "skeds" and Joe or Jay (K1RQG K5JL)
will run the NA > OC
The EU > NA may be run by PI9CAM or HB9MOON .. someone will do it for sure.
There will be a heap of special calls in use as well.
W1M = K1RQG
W5J = K5JL
K5J = K5SO
N0O = N0OY
W1O = K2DH
K0C = K0YW
so save the totally predictable debate of 'is that a new initial'
? until later !!!
Its going to be hard enough to understand the accents without
changing call signs as well !!
NA = NORTH AMERICA
OC = OCEANIA
EU = EUROPE
NA > OC STARTING JUNE 26 AT 0100Z
OC > EU STARTING JUNE 26 AT 0930Z
EU > NA STARTING JUNE 26 AT 1900Z
NA > OC STARTING JUNE 27 AT 0130Z
OC > EU STARTING JUNE 27 AT 1100Z
EU > NA STARTING JUNE 27 AT 2000Z
NA > OC STARTING JUNE 28 AT 0200Z
OC > EU STARTING JUNE 28 AT 1200Z
EU > NA STARTING JUNE 28 AT 2030Z
Come on or just listen. It is intended as a fun activity to support
EoA . There will be many
big guns on and you could be very surprised at what you will hear.

Hello group,
I am planning to install a Yaesu G 5500 rotator with two cross pole
yagis for UHF and VHF on a 2.5 mts 43 mm Poly-proplene solid rod to
have a minimum droop and seperation. Also intended to use Orbitron
with Labjack U12 & piggyback combo. Could some one tell me whether
this combo would work and the boom length is sufficient. Though I
have gone through some basic information about rotator installation,
suggestions and guidelines from experienced people would be of great
help and useful to me to incorporate before taking up the work. Could
some one help me out ! Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I have a very similar set up and happy to send you mine. I am just
trying to get mine back on the air after storm damage. If I recall
correctly, I have a 12' cross pole with a horizontally polarized yagis at
each end, each, 20' boom's one 12 ele 144mhzx and the other 17 ele 440. 2
inch aluminum mast and Yaesu 5500 powering it. I had a 1.2 ghz dish sitting
right in the center. Photos attached to the following e-mail.

Hey everyone,
How about posting the call sign you'll be using over Field Day weekend for
satellite contacts?
Here, I'll be providing the satellite station for the combined FD effort of
the Athens Amateur Radio Club and the Northeast Georgia ARC, and they have
obtained the special 1x1 call W4G for Field Day.
I know many of us will be using club calls over Field Day, and I'm interested
in know "who will be who" this weekend.
I'm also interested in CW contacts on AO-7, FO-29 and VO-52, so I hope those
of you who will be working those three will bring a key or paddle along. If
you do, please listen for W4G a few kHz below the middles of theses
satellites' passbands.
73 to all, and enjoy Field Day!

Tim,
I'll be operating the satellite station at the K9MOT Motorola Amateur Radio
Club FD site in Schaumburg, IL from Grid EN52xb.
Unfortunately my CW is not that great but I will try to drag one of our CW
ringers to help out.
Look for us mostly in the SSB portion of AO-7, FO-29 and V-U52.
Happy Field Day!
73,
Adrian
AA5UK
PS: ZF2AE cards are in. I'll start sending those out after FD.

W2RDX from Webster, NY (FN13) will be on this weekend for FD. As Tim alluded
to, don't forget that you can work the same station on both SSB and CW on the
analog transponders, so plug in those keys!
Addtionly, according the ARRL FD rules, DX stations should send their
operating class and "DX". The operating class for your typical home station
would be "1D", so the exchange would be "1D DX".
Should be a good time....

Subject: [amsat-bb] Field Day Call Signs

W5IU will be the call sign used by the joint effort of the Lockheed Martin
ARC and the Fort Worth Kilocycle Club at the Lockheed Martin Recreation Area
in Fort Worth, TX. Both of these clubs have club calls (W5SJZ and W5SH)
but they have elected to use my call. We plan to be on all of the birds and
I'll see if I can get someone to bring a key.
