Resolved. Problem was a common parallel to USB adapter cable does not work
when connected between the SASI Sat Tracker and a USB port on my laptop.
Before I knew what was happening, the G5500 slewed to the limits in both
axis. In the mean time, I'm looking for a different interface to use between
the G5500 control unit and computer USB ports. Uni-Trac maybe, if
they're still available.
Thanks for the bandwidth.

Having trouble with rotor control using SatPC32 running Win98se. Using LVB
tracker via USB port with Ftdi driver. Manual movement works ok however when
Sat comes in range and auto tracking starts the relay in the G5500 control
box chatters. I have setup set for 15sec timed control and GS232 interface.
The Ftdi is pointed to com 3 at 9600b baud. Any Help ? KA9ERV

Just watched ANUSAT and RISAT-2 launch on a PSLV from India. ANUSAT is
supposed to have a V/U store and forward amateur system onboard, but I've
not been able to find any other information.

There was a thread here back in March about AMSAT India's VO-52 operating
award. It said that the first 50 certificates would be free, and that
afterwards there would be a fee.

I assume by now the fee is in effect, but have not found any further info
about the award on the www. AMSAT India's website apparently has not been
updated since 2005.

Has anyone received one of these certificates? Anyone know the fee?

Hello,
What firmware version are you running with your LVB Tracker? About 3 years
ago users reported about the same problem (chattering relays). They could
fix it with a firmware update (version 0.2 to 0.5, meanwhile there are
further updates).

Hi Bill and all,

Here is the information you asked about. The day after it was
posted, Tim, N3TL and I worked a contact and mailed the QSO

since or received any mail. We feel sure we made the first 50
group, but no way of knowing at this time. I hope this helps.

Folks

Current firmware (0.9) is here:

http://www.g6lvb.com/Articles/LVBTracker/LVBTrackPIC16V0.9.hex

I sincerely recommend upgrading any devices with firmware prior to 0.9 - I
don't know what or when it happened, but I believe that a COM port driver
update over the past year or so within the Windows OS made the RS-232 port
speed rather more picky. Due to a schoolboy error on my part, I'd had a bug
in there since the year dot that meant the PIC's baud rate generator was
loaded with a slightly inaccurate value. This is resolved with the 0.9
firmware release above.
