covering letter in English.

many thanks to the COMPASS-1 team

After the great time I had last year I really wanted to get to Dayton
again, but I have agreed to do a bike ride from Santader (Spain) to
Bergerac (France) starting on May 13th.

Maybe I can get to the TAPR meeting later in the year (I think I have
enough BA frequent flyer miles to cover the travel).

regards,

John g0orx/n6lyt

Here is the new AO-51 schedule for April. Enjoy the continued higher power

HI fellow operators,

Thanks to those who have worked me so far. I appreciate your patience as I
have had a few glitches to contend with.

I wanted to let you know that I hope to be on during the following passes
later today:

SO-50 3/27/2009 AOS
22:15:31 LOS 22:29:09
AO-51 3/27/2009 AOS 23:30:49 LOS 23:44:42
FO-29 3/28/2009 AOS
03:02:45 LOS 03:18:29
VU-52 3/28/2009 AOS
03:20:35 LOS 03:33:05

All times are UTC from EK99hi.

Heading to Little Cayman for part of CQWPX. I should be available for
satellites contacts most afternoons and late evening on AO-51, SO50, VU-52 and
FO-29.

Please be patient. It's been many years since I have worked linear birds and I
am just getting used to working with SatPC in half-duplex mode with my FT857D
and holding an Arrow Antenna at the same time.

See you on the birds or on HF.

Sounds like I should be there, but cannot. It would be nice if the
presentations could be recorded for all of us who can't attend.
I'm sure they would be of great interest. How about it?

Hi Kent,

I think Gordon is on to something with the volume comment. The image almost
looks like it was recorded on a very bad mechanical tape recorder with a lot
of wow/flutter - the lines aren't vertical, which means that the SSTV program
is having a hard time synching onto the lines. Since the recorder is digital,
it can't be a mechanical problem, so the only thing left is the quality of the
audio itself.

If there is a setting for the audio quality (vs record time, usually), pick a
higher setting (lower record time). You might also skip the audio cable and
just put the recorder mike near the radio speaker, or turn the volume way
down, sort of like you did when you played it back to the PC.

Ah, another idea... Work on getting the radio->PC connection audio connection
going (you can just use the national weather service channel for an audio
source), and use the PC's audio recorder to get the sound quality and volume
right. I expect (though I haven't used MMSSTV or Windows for Ham stuff for
several years) that you can play back the digital audio on the PC directly
into MMSSTV.

Good luck,

Greg KO6TH

Hi Folks,
sorry for the OT message.
I own the rotator Yaesu G-5400B which are a Azimuth and elevation rotators.
I had enclosed with the pack when I bought it an "L" bracket.
Unfortunately due to maintenance I have lost the Bracket.
Please is there anybody which own one and can pass me all the measures
So I can build a new one? I need the measures of the "L" bracket and the
right
Positions of the holes to fix the two rotators.
Any help will be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance
